some say you could. i'm doubtful. those commercial companies spend loads of money on committed, experienced and powerfuble group who're charged with scuffling with the complicated conflict against the cowards that propagate viruses and malware and the companies that use spyware and secret agent ware to observe what your're doing, inspite of the fee to the buyer. The unfastened application is supported by using area-timers who think of they comprehend what's happening. for sure, some are surprising yet is that adequate? The unfastened companies have not have been given any stake in the activity. Are they in it for alturistic motives? I doubt it. Many (a great way too many) are no longer conserving you in any respect yet commencing your equipment for attack. They do this in numerous techniques. First, they delude purchasers to think of they're risk-free. some unquestionably harm the OS that makes the equipment liable to attack by using different courses. Many sluggish the equipment all the way down to the element you think of you have a deadly disease and do something rash. Others basically comprise the malware you're attempting to safeguard your self from. some pop up on your equipment promising to repair some undetected concern that may no longer probably there. the answer? their very very own sort of malware. the end result's your equipment is compromised--sometime to the element of destruction. i think of you get what you pay for. a very stable virus application is a obligatory cost in case you ought to draw on the materials on the information superhighway. further and further of those web content are being contaminated. unquestionably, I even have an option answer. i take advantage of a digital laptop to host a version of XP that i take advantage of to get right of entry to the information superhighway. If the VPC is contaminated, i do no longer care--I basically throw away all adjustments on the tip of the consultation. The host OS can't be affected in any way. the fee is a one-time fee of the VPC application and the effortless loss of overall performance.

First download Malwarebytes Anti Malware to your desk top then download SUPER Antispyware - run the first one in a full scan, then do the same with the other, this should get rid of anything nasty on your computer, and both programs are FREE...and free is good!

I also run CCleaner on my pc, it keeps your computer clean.

You do need to find a reputable anti-virus, I hear Avant or something like that is pretty good, and is also free. I hope this helps you!

If you have a lot of infection on your computer, you will need to deep clean it. This will take some time and you will need several scanners to do the job. There are free copies of Avast, Spyware Doctor, Avira Antivirus, SuperAntiSpyware, A-Squared and others at http://spyware-and-adware.com Also there are some tutorials that will show you how to clean your computer

How is your Computer telling you it's infected ? It can't tell you. If it's Anti-Virus 2009 download a free copy of MalwareBytes from http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam.php Install it , update it, and run it and remove anything it finds. Then get a free copy of Avast Anti-Virus and install it. You should have had protection before this happened.

This probably is a rogue software application designed to trick users into buying a fake product by using scare tactics

To remove rogues and other malware

Download, update, and run

The free versions can detect and remove

Malwarebytes AntiMalware

and

SuperAntiSpyware

I think if it is really really bad you have to do a system restore. A system restore restores your computer back to the way it was exactly when you bought it an dit removes everything like virus, spyware, adware, trojans, etc. I just did it and it worked. Google it to find out how thought because different comps have different ways.

Adware files, Trojans and many malware types are being detected with Spybot Search & Destroy. This is a classic antispyware, anti adware tool that has become a well known product for users who fight against all kinds of online threats. It allows you to fix the Windows Registry inconsistencies, to be more specific - it is fixing the inconsistencies that are related to malicious applications that you are installing and adware.

To answer your question, go to the Avant antivirus official website and download the free home edition. It's doing it for me :)

Oh, and download McAfee Site Advisor. It shows which sites contain viruses and such.

heres more! If you want a free anti-virus I recommend in this order (install only one):

1. AVG Free

a. A simple interface (easier to use than Avast! and Avira)

b. Can detect about 82.82% of viruses

Cons: low virus detection

2. Avast!

a. Real-time protection

b. It has an option to delete a virus once found

c. Can detect about 87.46% of viruses.

Cons: Too many icons and confusing user interface

3. Avira AntiVir

a. It can detect malware better than Avast and AVG

b. It's cute umbrella icon

c. Can detect about 94.26% of viruses

Here's some ideas to "roll ya own" Internet Security Suite for free. Free is always the best.

--------------------------------------...

1. For your Anti-Virus......(Always use only 1 A-V)

For your anti-virus needs, I would suggest Avira AntiVir® PersonalEdition Classic. It has excellent heuristics, a virus detection rate that is better than many of "paid-for" anti-virus programs and is light on using your computer's resources. And did I mention that it's free!

Download here:

http://www.free-av.com/

--------------------------------

2. For your Firewall..........(Always use only 1 firewall)

An excellent free firewall is Comodo Personal Firewall. It can pass firewall "leak tests" that even most of the "paid-for" firewalls cannot pass.

And Comodo has a great support forum. Where the CEO / President of the company might even himself answer your question! Check it out at:

http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/

-------------------------------

3. For your Anti-Adware and Anti-Spyware needs...............(use 2)

Pick and choose, 2 anti-spywares from the list below and alternate scanning with them on a regular basis. New spywares are created literally hourly, so no single anti-spyware can really detect all malware. Have at least 2 on hand and alternate scanning with each every few days or so. All are free. All can remove as well as detect.

Spybot Search and Destroy:

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/spybo...

Ewido (now known as AVG Anti-spyware) Do NOT download AVG Anti-virus.:

http://ewido.com

AdAware 2007

http://www.lavasoft.de/software/adaware/

A-Squared:

http://www.emsisoft.com/en/software/free...

SUPERAntiSpyware:

http://www.superantispyware.com/

Windows Defender:

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security...

Unfortunately, many "paid for" anti-spyware products are in fact either of limited usefulness or downright scams. When in doubt, look at the list of rogue anti-spyware solutions listed here:

http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti...

--------------------------------------...

4. And to protect your computer from ever getting infected with malware in the first place............ (use them both)

SpywareBlaster:

http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareb...

SiteAdvisor:

http://www.siteadvisor.com/

-----------------------------------

Everything here is 100% free!!!!!!

Great luck! Enjoy!

Avast is one of best anti-virus programs and completely free Avast works for 60 days after installation you will obtain your FREE license key by email after you register, the license key is valid for 1 year after one year you will need to just re-register.

Avast home edition is free and effective, it scans your downloads and emails for viruses (unlike AVG) and also includes anti-rootkit and anti-spyware, it can also run a boot scan, I use Avast along side Comodo Pro firewall both are free and have been independently tested and proven to be more effective then Norton or Mcafee.

Avast Anti-Virus: http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.ht...

Comodo Pro: http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/

Why Avast is better then AVG:

AVG themselves state that the free version of their Anti-Virus does NOT scan downloads for malicious content where as the free version of Avast DOES, whats the point in having anti-virus software that can't prevent viruses from being downloaded to your computer, I've also tested both using the EICAR test viruses, AVG allowed all the viruses onto the computer Avast blocked them instantly Avast offers far superior protection. test your anti-virus: http://www.eicar.org/anti_virus_test_fil... or
