the best antivirus - knowing how to not get a virus, and if you do, knowing how to find it and delete it.
Some good free antivirus:
AVG
Avast
Sophos
google them. also, the best thing to do is get some antivirus tools that can be run from a flashdrive

Of all time, that's a no brainer it's Norton. Because years ago it really was the only choice. It then went down hill and was so heavy that it just slowed down a computer to much. But in the last few years they have fixed that problem. Today the highest rated are Kaspersky and Bitdefender. Getting the best isn't important at all. Just getting a good one is what a user needs. You want a company that is always one of the best. The important part is a user know what they are doing.

No such animal. Never will be...because too many people out there enjoying themselves attacking others...behind walls anyway. having said that, go to CNET.com and check out the free downloadable antivirus software...there is enough free stuff that works really great instead of buying the other brands which are really storage pigs and very controlling to your computer. But, they do work...make sure you update often as new crabs are coming out everyday.
Good luck

Of all time ?, perhaps none. Some times Norton takes the lead, some other time Kaspersky, some othertime BitDefender.

I see Bit Defender coming up a lot in these answers. I understand that Emsisoft uses the Bit Defender malware database and have another layer of protection which is there original design.
Worst free programs >>>>>> Microsoft Security Essentials (MSE)
