I'm worried that i may have accidently installed a Trojan Horse Virus on my computer. A window popped up saying that there were 73 threats on my computer and i should download this software or something like that to protect my computer. So, me being the idiot i am, downloaded it. But i have Norton on my computer, which it didn't pop up on Norton like i had expected it to, since Norton is the company i use. After i downloaded it, a thing in the corner of my screen popped up saying that it blocked the download. I did research on the virus and it said that one of the many things it does it slow the computer down. My computer has been going pretty slow lately. Then again, i alos downloaded some things, but they were approved by Norton and were safe, i know some schools have them. I also ran 3 Full System Scans in the past three days and it said that theyre were no viruses or anything on my computer. I'm just really worried about what to do. Please help!

I have gotten the same thing before. I 'X'ed it off and ran Malwarebytes Ati-malware. It's a very good program and it came up that I had nothing at all. I have gotten some SERIOUS viruses and such before where it even locked up my KEYBOARD which is UNHEARD OF! The thing that popped up saying there was 73 viruses on the computer, yeah its a HUGE scam, also, at that time, I had also ran it. I had norton on my computer and I ran it afterwards also. It showed nothing but about a few days later, the computer was totally freaking trashed to heck! Porno sights kept coming up on their own, like really bad! and trust me, I think porno is DISGUSTING! I NEVER look at that kind of NASTY TRASHY stuff AT ALL, but it kept popping up everywhere and I was so disgusted by it! The keyboard locked up and I couldn't get ANYTHING to work to try and save my computer. Finally a friend gave us a disk with Malwarebytes Anti-malware program on it. We turned on our computer and when the black background with the white words came on we went to something like setting or tools or something and we had popped the disk in fast and downloaded it quickly and when the computer came on, before the porno started popping up everywhere, we clicked on malwarebyes and it cleaned it out COMPLETLEY!!!!!!!!! beautiful, beautiful, beautiful. I SERIOUSLY recomend looking up Malwarebytes Anti-walware. Please do, and then run the FULL scan. Make a shortcut for it so that you have the icon on the side of your computer, double click on it but then don't press it again. It will take a second or two for it to pop up, make sure that Preform FULL scan is bubbled in, then finally press scan, after this press okay, everything EVERYTHING will be scanned in your computer, let it run, APPROXIMATELY it takes around 45 minutes for it to finish on mine. When it's done just follow what it says and it will tell you what button to press to clean out any viruses or malware or trojan and what-not. It works WONDERS trust me! :)

I wish you luck! But if you can't get Malwarebytes then PLEASE honey, take it to somewhere like Geek squad or Best buy so they can have a look because viruses and trojan and malware and spyware are VERY serious, then can take all your money with a blink of an eye. So PLEASE if you can't get the malwarebytes then get it looked at before time runs out. :)

I wish you all the best!

Manual Remove Trojan horse

Disable the System Restore feature on your computer. If this is still turned on, the system will restore any deleted files, including those infected by the Trojan horse. This can be done by going into the My Computer file and looking for the Performance option. Then select File System, Troubleshooting and Disable System Restore.

Turn on the computer and run it in safe mode. Restart the computer and when the words begin appearing on the screen, press the F8 key. This takes you to a new screen, where you'll select the safe mode option. Let the computer start as it regularly would before you continue.

Go into the Control Panel by clicking on the "Start" button at the bottom left-hand side of the screen and looking for the Control Panel. Select the Add or Remove Programs icon. The computer should then show a list of all programs existing on your system.

Look for programs that include Spyware or adware on your computer and select the Remove program option. Many users have found it helpful to look for programs that they didn't install and those that were installed when they downloaded a game or other program onto their computer.

Open the Windows System folder and delete all files that include the Trojan virus extension. Go through the list twice to make sure you removed all virus files. Then restart the computer in normal mode and check the folder again. If all the files are gone, you'll be ready to move on. If there are any remaining, remove them and restart the computer.

If no viruses show up and your computer is running really slow your pc might be infected with malware. Malware is different from viruses so your antivirus won't find them on your pc sooooo you need a antimalware program.

http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.html

Click any of the download buttons

The search might take a while but that will find all of the malware on your computer if there is any.

Sounds like Norton blocked the "fake" Norton (which was a virus) from Downloading to your computer. Just to be safe I would recommend scanning with Malwarebytes just to make sure.

The pop-up is probably the trojan itself. You do need to clean it. f-secures website has an online scanner. Panda has a free one if you don't have av. But those programs often disable the AV on your system (if you had it). So don't rely on what you have had on there to date. Get something new to clean it. Adaware and Spybot are also free ad good.

The only thing I need to add is I've never heard of Tuneup360. I think they are playing off the Norton360 name to get your money. Don't trust 'em. It appears a bunch of self promoters of rogue anti spyware programs are afoot tonight.
