Your Question
PC is crashing constantly plus many other problems, can you help its window xp?
The only program I can open with is yahoo mail, it works for awhile then crashes or freezes and the only way I can make it work again is to reboot. i can't load Adobe flash at all,,I have ran all scans Avast & Malware Bites, they say its fine. I have ran microsoft virus detector. I have restored 3 times. Ran defrag and disk clean up. disk check up. Every thing says all is well but it sure is not. Had Mozilla and IE has erased all traces of it in browser, also Yahoo is my home page it opens to a blank page. If you have and idea I have not tried please help..I am a senior lady and only understand simple directions..thank you so much

Try this free window registry repair tool...........You did all the virus scans and nothing..........download the free window registry repair tool and also Malwarebytes anti-malware ...its free also...........

http://download.cnet.com/Free-Window-Registry-Repair/3000-2086_4-10606555.html?tag=mncol

http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

Then when your done with the scans on those above..........go to this product next...........

http://download.cnet.com/Wise-Disk-Cleaner/3000-2086_4-10613345.html?tag=mncol;pop

That is the ultimate clean-up program....it will show you how many files to take off your computer safely.......it seems that between the registry and to many files..........its taking to much of your CPU and that is why your computer is crashing.............

Also download this free tool....and check the start up program and see what is loading upon start up...unessary items can cause the compute to crash also if you have to many things loading at start up....I only have 6 loading at start up an no more...........see what you have loading at start up and eliminate some programs that are running that are not necessary........this will increase the CPU and eliminate the crashing.................

Well, first of all, I suggest you press F8 while windows is starting up - get the menu, and select Safe Mode.

In Safe Mode, most software and drivers are not installed. It should be stable in Safe mode unless you have a hardware problem.

Next, I suggest you download BlueScreenView - this s/w examines the crash dump files and tries to tell you what is occurring. Even if you don't understand it, the information will help others determine why your computer is crashing.

http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/BlueScreenView-Download-134999.html

Another approach is to click on Start, then Run, then run "msconfig".

msconfig allows you to choose what does and does not get loaded during a normal boot. You can try trial-and-error until you find the s/w that is causing the crashes

Good luck,

"Format" means wipe everything on your system, and re-install Windows.

You loose all files that you've saved over it's life.

It does usually get things back on track, but you probably want to save your data files.

Maybe a "Repair Windows" will do the job without loosing your work.

do that from your XP Install disk.

Usually these disks would be run from a 'cold boot' with your BIOS set to "boot from CD 1st"

BIOS settings vary, but can usually be found by one of the "F" keys (1-12) on the top of the keyboard.

Pressing the correct key will give you BIOS setup & in that, find the 'boot order'; then set CD as #1.

Then you can insert the disk> restart unit.

Disk should then come up with steps for re-installing the OS.

Select "Repair Windows", not the "Formatted" option.

Added:

Reformatting will sometimes 'loose' the drivers or not get your current, working ones..

With separate CD driver storage, accessing and installing functional drivers is far easier.

Try Driver Magician Lite (freeware);

http://www.snapfiles.com/Freeware/system/fwbackup.html

Use it to identify & back up all drivers for this BU. Always keep it with your unit.

actually i had some kind of same problem but... these programs you mentioned are not THAT good...

at least in my case.. they show me fine

then i used PC tools spyware doctor and then i started believing in god :P

my pc went back to normal :o

but you should think about a format !

the ultimate solution :P

formatting your computer can be easily done!

as for what it is...

you start again from zero ! ( you get me ? )

everything is deleted..and you install windows xp from the start!

i suggest you save some important files first..

but the problem is that..malicious software might be inside your ''favourite'' files/archives/bla bla :)

now that you know...

when you format... there is nothing that cannot be deleted !

your hard disk is like brand new!

i m giving that example to explain you that your computer will be fast and like first time ^^ without anything in it :P

tell me if you are interested on formatting your PC and i can talk to you...how to do it and what to do !
