Every time I click on my Internet Explorer Icon to get online everything slows down and I suddenly get all kinds of advertisement popups. It's driving me crazy! How do I stop this????

You may want to try these freeware programs that have and currently are working well for me.
Antivirus : Avira antivir
Spyware : Spywareterminator
Browser : Avant
Google them for your own research.Install them and you shouldn't have anymore problems. Good Luck!!

Install a po up blocker.
try www.panicware.com
Their free blocker works pretty good. Also there is one built in XP, make sure it's on.

first of all, you should install an anti-spyware/adware program, like webroot spysweeper or lavasoft ad-aware.
a more user friendly web browser is mozilla firefox. it's free from their site: www.mozilla.com. they also have free add-ons like adblock, which is very helpful in blocking pop-ups & unwanted ads (https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/)
