1. Change all of your passwords and security questions.

2. Scan your computer using these because you might have spyware ( keylogger; logs what you type)

Malwarebyte's Anti-Malware

SUPERAnti-Spyware

They are free, work great and you can find it by using google

3. Contact the authoritys about this. e.g. police, etc.

Okay, do you know for sure that he even hacked you in the first place, or are they just playing mind games with you. You can check to see if the link you clicked is malicious or not by going to http://www.mywot.com and typing in the url and seeing what the sites rating is.

But if you don't have an AV program, you are at a higher risk. I suggest that you at least get a free one. My suggestion is AVG Free Edition 2011 (They might have 2012 released, but if possible, get the 2011 version, as 2012 may not have all the bugs sorted out yet) http://free.avg.com

I'm assuming that you are using a Windows OS. If this is the case, make sure you have Windows firewall running. To do this, do the following.

XP: Go to Start - Control Panel. Security. Security Center. Enable the firewall if it isn't.

Vista/Win 7: Go to Start. Search Windows Defender. Open. Check Firewall status and enable if it isn't.

When you get AVG, run a quick, full, and rootkit scan to make sure there is nothing on your computer. Once you are done, you can also download another program to make sure you have everything removed. http://www.malwarebytes.org

Get the free version, and install the latest database, and do not start a free trial. Run a quick and full scan and quarantine anything it finds.

Hope this helps!

Mate,

First of all... Calm Down and breathe. You can do a lot to completely shut this guy off. The most basic thing everyone should have on their computers is a security parameter or a zone defense [:D].

The Security Parameter:

1) ARP Firewall

2) Anti-Virus

3) Anti-Spyware

4) VPN for Anonymity

5) Common Sense (look for HTTPS:// when going to sites, don't open emails from random monkeys, etc)

Secondly, You need to close all network ports that are dangerous. Do this by doing two things:

(a) Go to: Control Panel\Network and Sharing Center > Select Change adapter settings in the left panel > Right-Click your current internet connection and choose Properties > Disable every item except TCP/IPv4 (Do not disable your firewall or QoS - if you use cable)

(b) You need to close down the ports on your computer so simply download this program and RUN AS ADMIN (Be Sure To Do So)!

The world is your oyster young man, take a stand against stupidity! The first line of defense is common sense -- do not read random/spam email, do not go to insecure sites, and do get candy from stranger.

For starters, just because someone says they have a billion dollars, doesn't mean they're telling you the truth.

Can you describe some of the symptoms that have convinced you into thinking you were hacked?

do one thing. reinstall your computer OS. if you can't then grab a comp. expert he'll help you.

waste some money & get a good antivirus & a good firewall. kaspersky, eset nod 32, norton antivirus are good. go to task manager ( press ctrl+alt+delete) & click on performance. you'll locate CPU usage box where you'll find the percentage of your CPU usage. if its less than 10% then you've got a problem.

can you tell me the link that you clicked?

let me check what is it.
