Question:
How can I return to the old version of the non-free version of AVG antivirus?

I had AVG internet security 2011 version, until I've installed the 2012 version, which is non-free/paid version/free for a month. Today it has expired, and I want to return back to the 2011 version, which was free. I don't want to download it and reinstall it, because then I have to reset all the settings; as long as I remember, during the install of the 2012 version, I was suggested to return to the 2011 version, if I wanted to. How can I do that? Thanks!

Hi Tina, you can try this:

Uninstall the current version you have using the AVG removal tool. Always use an AV products uninstall tool to uninstall an AV program.

Then go here, and download the version you want:

To keep it the 2011 version you will have to disable program update, or only allow the definitions update to take place, if you can do that anymore. You used to be able to chose the updates you wanted, but I'm afraid that they don't allow you to chose whether, or not you can update the program.

Good luck.
