Whenever I try to watch videos on my computer, this Security Code thing comes up. It says "Your security settings do not allow this site to use ActiveX controls."

It never started doing this until I installed this Norton 360 spyware. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

It is common for malware to use ActiveX controls to install itself, that is why the Norton 360 and other anti-malware do not allow the ActiveX controls to install - you can override that in the Tools - Internet Options - Security

Click the Trusted Sites icon and you will see a new window with a button labeled "Sites".

Click that button and you will be able to add a specific website to the list of sites that are allowed to use ActiveX. This list should already include *.microsoft.com among a few others.

This assumes you have granted Trusted Sites the minimum security.

One reason for being very careful about allowing sites to install their own ActiveX controls is that the controls might be buggy and sometimes malware looks for certain ActiveX controls to infect.

If you ever have to uninstall and then reinstall Adobe Flash Player, you will have to allow an ActiveX control to be installed.

I don't understand if you are wanting to allow activeX controls so you can watch videos and stuff again or turn off ActiveX? It sounds like it is already turned off or being blocked by your norton's security suite. Most of the time, a yellow bar at the top will pop up and offer to allow you to allow them. I'm not sure with norton's because I think it sucks and hate it! It would also help out if I knew what browser you are useing....IE or firefox, google chrome, etc....If I knew what browser, I could probably give you a little more info on turning them back on!

Go to Internet options-----security......highlight internet.......click on custom. Scroll through security settings and adjust the activeX controls and plug-in to enabled for activeX scripting and download active X controls marked as safe.......prompt for activeX controls not marked safe.Save the settings, Refresh the page having problems and on the top corner you should see a yellow tag.....right click and select install active X.
