for the trojan to be removed. I purchased their product and it did not remove the trojan from my computer. I had to call Dell and they removed all my files and also removed the trojan. I am trying to get my money back from ADWARE VIRUS SYSTEMS but to no avail. Can someone tell me if I had been taken advantage of? What can I do about this? All I want is my $70.00 back. Thanking you in advance.

How did you pay ? By credit Card ? If so contact your credit card people & tell them you was mislead & ask is this fraud.

Never pay out to get virus or spyware removed, come on here and ask us, i think you have been tricked by smitfraud or vundo.

SmitFraud has become a term to mean an infection where fake security alerts appear in your taskbar stating that you are infected. These alerts tend to be accompanied by a rogue anti-spyware program installed on your computer without your consent.

The Vundo family of Trojans is one of the most common infections we find on user’s PC’s. The infection can cause popups which usually advertise rogue antispyware programs. Some common rogue antispyware programs that are advertised are WinFixer, SysProtect and winantispyware for example. Users are normally targeted by false positives, and warning of infection – an example of this could be popups alerting users they are infected with a blackworm virus.

You were TAKEN!!!

This is a common situation where a bogus or less than honest software company will send out a malware program that will infect your system and suddenly you get a popup that tells you that you are infected and they are the only ones that can save you.

If you purchased the software by Visa or MC you can place a claim with them to dispute the charge and get the money back.

I would invest in a good retail AV/Spyware package such as Notron 2008 or CA Internet Suite 2008. I recommend the CA suite myself but it is personal choice. Both are about $60.00 retail.

Also look at ad-aware from Lavasoft. This is a great backup tool to detect adware that I have been using for years. They offer a free trial and the scanning is very good.

Adware Virus Systems ALWAYS finds something that only they can remove, usually their own program. They are best at removing money from your wallet or bank account.

Get the free programs the others have mentioned.

Alot of ads will tell you that you have something wrong with your computer when you don't just to get you to buy their product. Be careful and read up before clicking BUY. Download a keygen for Norton System Works after installing the program. It will save you all of the hassle. It's what I use. Good luck! Be careful of viruses if downloading "cracks"

get avg anti virus free (very reliable) or pctools anti virus - both will detect and remove trojans like that. i also recommend pctools spyware doctor (google pack version).

Sounds a bit like a dodgy company - the software mentioned above is the best and its free. PC Tools and Grisoft are excellent.

i am partial to norton. most of the universities/colleges, and gov agencies in minnesota (my home) use it. i am using it now. i also use windows defender (it is free) and win patrol.

i have heard of a new product from windows called "one care". and i have heard a lot of good things about it. but it is only free for 90 days. you can get these items from http://download.com and search for them individually.

most virus protection software companies provide "free scans". mcafee has one called "stinger" and pc-cillin has "housecall". i like and have used both. you can get housecall at http://trendmicro.com and go to the bottom of the page and click the "housecall link.

but like i said you can search for them all.

I use my pc 24/7.

Try toptenreviews.com for your answer about which system tool-software you should use.

Use Kaspersky anti-virus and System machanic; no other software will do what they can !
