My Internet won't work is it a virus?

Well this is the situation, my other computer has been giving me grief, because for some reason whenever I try to go onto the internet something is blocking it. To explain...

Let's say I go to google, or any website, it goes onto that website just fine. But when I try to go further than that like checking my mail, a page blocks me from going further and the page always says Internet explorer thinks this is might be a malcious website, and gives me three options to do which all three wants me to purchase a anti virus software.

And when I try to restore my computer to a earlier date, the computer itself just can't do it. So my question is, is this all linked to a virus, and can it be fixed if a purchase a (hardcopy) anti virus software and install it onto my computer?

Same thing that's happening to me.

Yes, it IS a virus. I got one from it a couple days ago, but then downloaded Malwarebytes Anti-Malware. I highly suggest you downloading it before your computer gets wrecked.

Download it here: http://www.download.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html

Also make sure you have a Anti-Virus Runner.

I recently am using AVG Free 8.0 - http://free.avg.com/

Good luck, and don't use Internet Explorer anymore.

Something is happening lately, so I'd suggest you switching browsers. Try Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.

http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

Good luck!

And remember to run those Anti-Virus Softwares on a regular basis. Especially when you get viruses. It will automatically remove your virus somewhere around 15-20 minutes.

Yes a virus initially, but you may have caused other problems by trying to restore to an earlier version. Can you download? Try this link for Spybot and Malware...

Do you have any sort of protection already??? Virus? Run them. You will need to go to safe mode - F8 (press a few times) when you turn the computer on. Try uninstalling your browser. Alternatively you can try installing your windows software preferably as a second copy, not over write the original.

You should have Spybot, Malware, Adaware, Ccleaner and AVG for security on your computer.
