I push the button to turn on the computer, get the 'Starting windows' graphic than screen goes blank. Sometimes it starts, sometimes it don't . When it don't go to the login screen, I get the black screen, than a blue screen saying its checking the disk for errors, it restarts once or twice and goes to the screen that says it was shut down incorrectly and give options to start Windows Normally or 'safe mode'.
If it does go to the login screen I have to wait 25-30 minutes for that to appear. I login and wait another 20 minutes. Finally I get the desktop, the task bar and themes from windows 98 come up instead the clear ones for windows 7, also it says in the bottom Corner "Windows 7 Build 7601 This Copy of Windows is not genuine." Even thought I bought the tower at Best Buy. The Antivirus says i need to update it every time I do get the desktop, and I get 2 error messages...

1. "Failed to connect to a windows service
Winodws could not connect ot the Group Policy Client service. This problem prevents standard users from logging on to the system. As an administrative user, you can review the System Event Log for details about why the service didn't respond."

2. Location is not available - Config/systemprofile/Desktop refers to a location that is unavailable. It could be on a hard drive on this computer, or on a network. Check to make sure that the disk is properly inserted or that you are connected to the internet or network, and then try again. If it still cannot be located the information might be moved to a different location.

I have tried to look for solutions on here and scanned the computer with Comodo Av, Hitman Pro, Malware bytes, SUPERAntiSpyware, and TDSSKiller from Kaspersky. They find cookie trackers but that's all. It does let me open some programs, the browser and play videos.

What's wrong with the computer? What can I do to fix it?

You say you bought the tower at BB, but is Win7 the originally installed OS? What's weirdest here is that Win98 is not related to Win7; they are two different branches of the "family tree" if you will. 98 was on the 9x kernel, while Win7 is on the NT kernel.

If it were me, I would do a clean install of Win7. Use a live CD version of Linux, like Puppy, if you need to to get your data off first. If it's not finding the Group Policies you're missing some key Windows components. Either you accidentally deleted them or the disk is bad in the areas they were stored.

A lot of problem might plague your computer if its running really slow than the usual. Errors and fixing the registry will help. Try a registry cleaner if that would help.
