It would be impossible to say, anything you download from an untrusted location could contain anything.

Cracks etc are a prime target for such things.

Also you get what are called false positives, this means the way the program works, can sometimes confuse a virus program and trigger an alert, it could be innocent but there really is no way we can tell you.

Cracks will lead to a whole heap of hurt, I can only say its VERY high risk, but its your computer, you decide.

There are DLL (dynamic-link library) and keygens (exe files).

Sometimes the DLL files act like executable files. They editing the Windows registry keys, modify, adding additional keys, install unwanted software and that's why the Antivirus blocking it.

Also, the Keygens, simply are .exe files, and you don't know what additional software might sneak into your PC once you execute it, after you DISABLE the Antivirus. Usually into the keygens are bundled Trojans.

So before you DISABLE the antivirus, think twice.

While cracks etc can be virus prone it may be just unusual behaviour that is causing the error. Which antivirus are you using?

I would say, ignore your anti-virus. the only reason they give positives is for you to extend your subscription. i know the only thing is that i have to close about 100 sexual oriented pop-ups every 5 minutes or so and that my bank account always seems to be empty before i even touch it. But hey cheating in games makes it all worth it ;-)

Sometimes. But, sometimes it's a mistake. "The Keep" for "Dragon Age" screwed me, and I'm pretty sure it was accidental, A;person, I'm assuming Chinese, started using my account and got really pissed when I started deleting all his or her characters that he or she spent countless hours on. I'm guessing it's due to a license overlap. It could have been a direct crack, but who knows?
