I've had a problem on my for a while now where iexplore.exe would show up in my task manager when i had not opened internet explorer. I was able to get it to stop for a while by deleting the iexplore.exe file in my program files. All of a sudden the problem has come back, and when i try deleting the exe file this time, it pops back up a few seconds later. does anyone know anything that could help me with this problem?

Good morning.

It is possible that you have found the Evivinc trojan. A summary, the technical details, and removal instructions are on the Symantec website:

Some malware camouflage themselves as iexplore.exe, so you need to check the path it is loading from.

There are different files with the same name:

"$WindowsRegKey%update" definitely not required.

"Explorer Updater" definitely not required. Added by the SDBOT-WO WORM! Note - this is not the legitimate Internet Explorer (iexplore.exe) process, which should not appear in Msconfig/Startup unless you add it manually!
