Is it safer to stream free movies on Sockshare or other free movie sites using Tor or can you still pick up malware?

Tor doesn't allow streaming usually if its from torrent sites.

In any case it simply hides your IP address, nothing more. So viruses etc will pass through tor like any other browser.

Get Comodo IceDragon (it's firefox with beefed up security) and add these addons.

Adblock plus, Noscript, Random Agent Spoofer, Remove WRT and Hotspot Shield free VPN. This is the only free VPN that allows streaming and torrenting. Anonymox free vpn allows streaming.

The most important thing is "Learn how to use Sandboxie".

This security browser plus these addons will keep you safe and anonymous.

Tor is too slow for videos too much buffering

Using Tor is pretty safe and blocks most of anything malicious, but to be safe get an antivirus and dont click on anything that looks even remotely fake

never used tor, but i think its value is anonymous surfing; user cant be tracked by their isp or anyone. i'd still have my pc protected vs malware, anti vir, etc.

i stream on http://putlocker.is w/ firefox w/ adblockplus on win 7 and i'v never had a prob.

pL is free, no hassles, no signup, downloads, etc.

adblockplus blocks most yahoo's ads, too.
