Hi
Recently I inserted a pen drive in my computer and these are the changes I found in my computer-
1. Shortcut icons of Desktop are appearing in my desktop, in all my folders, and pen drive
2. Recycle bin, MSO cache, Program Data, Recovery, System Volume information shortcut is showing in my C drive (Partially translucent indicating hidden files)

I haven't clicked or tried to delete any of these icons.
I have run virus scan with my Norton Antivirus and there is no indication of any virus in the system.

Is there any sort of problem which may arise out of it? (There is no problems with the computer as of now)
Is there any software to remove it in case it is a malware, or any settings I need to do in order to hide them in case they are genuine windows components.

Please help me.

Dear Brazer has faced a problem that exactly I faced once. And like dear Brazer I am also like just computer literate – having very limited knowledge of computer other than the functions used regularly. I had an opportunity that computer-savvy persons around me could resolve the problem. I was told that this might have come from a virus affected Pendrive; which I could not agree with. I thought the virus is definitely the culprit but has gained entry through internet which is very likely problem especially with Wi-fi or cell phone modem.

However, computer-savvy got the Norton Antivirus updated by ‘over the air’ approach and all the uncouth, impolite but apparently harmless yet repetitive (coming again after deleting) files has been resolved by newer youth of updated Norton Antivirus. And then, after having my pendrive resolved by Norton of one programme file without formatting, I had to agree with the verdict, it came through the pendrive. That programme file I never introduced in the pen drive, but, by some how it entered from another computer, may be at my office. This was RECYCLER file. In fact, every computer do have a recycler execution programme ( exe form), without which a computer will be a lame one especially running Windows; but this file was a mis-chief. Yet, I had to format my desktop ‘C’ drive twice to get Norton Antivirus updated over the air.

Dear may have an enquiry whether dear also has this mutated ‘Recycler’ programme file in the pen drive and the computer. Now I realized how much safe to have a NINJA pendrive safety settler programme in the computer. This at least will not allow the pendrive to carry virus to other computer. Sick person ( read : computer) should take measures for restriction of contamination to society.

Renewal of Norton subscription and get it updated probably is less expensive than buying new another one, free version of any Antivirus is always older version and limited span of capacity and for very short period. All the free versions are trial versions.

I think you are not having updated version of norton. So try having some other antivirus. It is just a virus problem nothing else.Try Kaspersky antivirus trial version for a month. or a avast free version for a year.

everywhere on your computer properly click and then left click (to tutor off) on "Align to Grid" and/or "vehicle organize Icons". Then once you close up down (good) and restart homestead windows your icons will stay the position you position them.
