How can I get the ActiveX to update on my computer?

I'm trying to update the Microsoft windows on my computer but it keeps on saying to update the ActiveX first.
It says this::
Install the ActiveX control required to view the website
The website will not display correctly on your computer without this control. To install it:
1. Right-click the Internet Explorer Information Bar. It's located just below the address bar.
2. In the right-click menu, click Install ActiveX Control.
3. In the Security Warning dialog box, click Install.

Note: If the Information Bar doesn't appear, or if you've installed the control but still can't use the website, take these steps to solve the problem.

Cant find none of it where it says to look for it. I even went to the website to update the ActiveX but it still wont let me. Any ideas how to make it that I can?

If you are using IE and in the administrator's account, follow these steps to enable Active X.



- Select Tools, then Internet Options from the menu at the top of the Internet Explorer window. The Internet Options window will appear.

- Select Security from the list of tabs at the top of the Internet Options window. The Security tab will appear.

- Select the Custom Level button. The Security Settings window will appear.

- Scroll down to the Download signed ActiveX controls entry and select the prompt radio button.

- Scroll down to the Run ActiveX controls and plugins entry and select the enabled radio button.

- Select the OK button to accept the changes



You may need to reboot for the settings to stick.



Then try to download again and you should be prompted to install the active x control.

Try uninstalling avg. And reinstalling it my HP did the same thing and it worked after I did that and if that don't work try reinstalling system files again press f12 repeadatly when starting computer and make sure u have redownloaded activex its a update that's free on the internet just type in activex and It would have to be redownloaded after a system restore because the activex file doesn't come preinstalled on any computer so try reinstalling activex. Are you using full screen ? If you are you won't see the info bar which is yellow and is under the tool bar at the top of the screen.



Turn full screen off by going to tools in your browser and unchecking full screen
