To be frank, the question seems bit baseless. How does it matter if you store or install IE in some other drive than C: ? For virus attack, you should rather worry about your system files and not the IE. But the bottomline is you dont have any option to specify the installation path when installing IE (I hope you are talking about Microsoft IE). Nor you can change it after the installation.



If you are worrying about viruses, just install an anti-virus program and keep updating the virus data. Nothing more required.

It doesn't really matter what drive Internet Explorer is on - once a virus is in your computer and running it has access to everything.



What you need to do is find a way to stop them - and Internet Explorer is the absolute worst for letting in viruses, spyware and the like.



Make sure your computer is clean of viruses and spyware by downloading and installing:

Spybot Search & Destroy - http://www.spybot.info/en/mirrors/index.html



Then do yourself a huge favour and stop using Internet Explorer; Firefox is a much better alternative.

It'll copy over your settings (cookies and favourites) from Internet Explorer, blocks pop-ups, is a lot more secure than even IE7, it's usually a lot faster... the list of awesome stuff goes on and on, but I'd like to point out the add-ons.

it wouldnt matter in whatever drive u install internet explorere, the virus would effect anyway.



even if you want to do it anyway u would need to first uninstall it then again install it from the cd or from the microsoft website

No, to prevent virus's, turn your firewall on and run regular virus scan with your virus protection software.
