I need some anti virus help?

I am currently using Norton Internet Security which I got with my computer. It is expiring soon, so I need some help deciding what I should get. Questions I have:
Is AVG anti virus good?
Is Avira anti virus good?
Is Avast anti virus good?

Is Zonealarm firewall good?
Is Comodo firewall good?

What is a good free anti spyware program?

If you browse the internet very safely (using Chrome) will I still get viruses? By safely I mean I good search just about every site I am about to use, and one of the only sites I trust to answer that is Yahoo Answers. I also go through and delete cookies daily.

On a side note, CA anti virus suite is free with Road Runner, other computers in my house have it but we switched to At&t before I got my computer. Does At&t have a free anti virus suite? Is it good? Can you just use the e-mail and stuff of somebody else that has Road Runner to get CA free?

Is it possible to get pretty much total free security (with different programs) without KILLING computer speed?

Does Malwarebytes Anti-Malware slow down your computer?

Can I just make the recovery disk things my HP reminds me to and pretty much be worry free unless I have important files on my computer?

I running Windows Vista, I think home premium.

Thank you for answering this whopper of a question.

Can you just use the e-mail and stuff of somebody else that has Road Runner to get CA free? Att uses McAfee,, low on detection rate, uses resources,, Not sure about the CA off of someone elses road runner.

I have used both AVG and Avast, at different times. The both worked ok.

I have heard good things about Comodo, but I have never used it.

I have never had an anti spyware program that worked well.

The only way that your computer will be truly secure is if it is not connected to the internet and it is locked away in a vault. That said, safe habits will greatly reduce your risk of getting malware.

The more programs you run, the slower your computer will go.

You can make a recovery disk, but if you use it, you will lose all of your data. Make sure to back up all of your important data.

Based on these factors, I have looked at many free anti virus programs, and the following 3 antiviruses are clearly the best 3 anti-virus programs available:

http://the-best-free-antivirus-software.blogspot.com/

#1 Best Free Antivirus: Avira AntiVir Personal http://www.free-av.com/

Avira Antivir has the highest detection rate and lowest demand on your computer of all of the free anti virus programs. In fact, AntiVir regularly outperforms many commercial anti virus programs. Make sure you keep it updated, and be cautious because it does not support antispyware.

#2 Best Free Antivirus: Avast! Home Edition http://www.avast.com

Avast! includes support against spyware, rootkits, and other threats in addition to viruses. It also has fantastic detection rates, but takes a little more of a toll on your system's resources then Avira.

#3 Best Free Antivirus: AVG Anti-virus Free Edition http://free.avg.com/

AVG has a slightly lower detection rate than the other two anti-virus programs, and is more demanding on your system. It does support antispyware (like Avast!), and requires very little maintenance as it can update itself. AVG is a great solution for the individual who is less tech savvy.

Avira or Avast are the best free anti-virus. Stay away from AVG free its garbage.

Only single antivirus cannot help u out in tough situations ,

You need a combination of softwares to help protect ur PC .

Here is the combination that I use

Avast antivirus > Malwarebytes > Super Antispyware > Comodo Firewall .

u can use AVG or Avira FREE in place of Avast , avira is slightly better for its detection rates and low memory usage .

U can get the above on following addresses -

Avast - http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html

AVG - http://www.free.avg.com/

Avira - http://www.free-av.com/

Malwarebytes - http://www.malwarebytes.org/

SuperAntispyware - http://www.superantispyware.com/download.html

Malwarebytes and superantispyware are on demand scanners for malware and spyware , so they wont slow down ur computer .

Any one of the following Firewalls -

Comodo Firewall - http://www.personalfirewall.comodo.com/

Zone Alarm Free Firewall

http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en-us/zonealarm-pc-security-free-firewall.htm

Zonealarm is the most trusted free firewall out in the market , Comodo follows on the Second Spot .

These apps work in combo to protect ur PC , and provide rock solid protection against viruses ,and all are free !

Good Luck

AVG-96% detection rate for virus - spyware 88% detection rate

Avira-98.8% for both virus and spyware

Avast-98% for both virus and spyware

zone alarm firewall good but take a few hours to cut the pop ups down

comodo firewall good stops DoS attacks plus fragmentation attacks buffer overflow and a few more(but i would use sunbelt firewall)

for antispyware all three of the above antivirus has got anti spyware as for a standalone pctools spyware docotor

ca antivirus is not good i have 7months left on my ca internet security plus but poor dectection rate of 68% for both virus and spyware

malewarebytes does not slow down computer as their is no realtime protection with it(free version)

- I have used Avira anti virus personal edition, Comodo Pro Firewall, I have recently added superantispyware and Malwarebytes. They are all free for personal use and I have had no trouble with Viruses Trojans Hackers etc. They can all be downloaded from http://malware-virus-spyware-remover-tools.blogspot.com/ Online Armor Free is good and is fairly easy to use.
