System Information
Compaq Presario CQ5210F
3GB ram
AMD Athlon II X2
Windows 7 Home Premium (64 bit)

System is 1 year old.

_________________________________________________________

Internet (Chrome & Firefox)
Unable to access internet. The wireless router provides access to laptops via wifi, but ethernet connection does not work in normal or Safe Mode with Networking.

Called internet provider: said our computer was receiving signal just fine.

________________________________________________________

McAfee:
-Can't run a system scan.
“An unexpected problem occurred during your scan. Please click OK to go back to the Home page, and then try running your scan again.”
-Homepage says
“Your computer is secure” with Firewall marked as on.
-Firewall page displays firewall as “off”, and clicking “turn on” causes a flicker from on, then back to off (split second).
-Unable to change Firewall settings.

______________________________________________________

System Restore:
Does not appear to be function correctly on this system.:
“A Volume Shadow Copy Service component encountered an unexpected error. Check the Application event log for more information. (0x80042302)”

Turn on Volume Shadow Copy: from Disabled&Stopped → Automatic and Started.
Still no change in System Restore problems.

NOTE: Due to lack of internet access abilities, I am unable to update the virus definitions on any of these programs. This puts their usability in question.

CCleaner
Erased a lot of crap; no change.

MalwareBytes
No problems found in Safe Mode scan.

SuperAntiSpyware
Currently Running....
Eliminated 1916 problem files, including 5 trojans.

ComboFix
Fails to run.

Microsoft Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool
No problems found in Safe Mode scan.

Audio Problems
Unable to play audio from computer. The audio troubleshooter says:
“hardware changes might not have been detected” and does not resolve the issue.

Attempting to play a random mp3 yields :
“Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.”

Attempting to play a random video file:
“Server execution failure”

Computer Processing Speed
No problems with computer processing speed. Computer runs as normal.
No odd pop-ups.
Error messages appear as specified.

No change in problems when switching users.

Besides the lack of internet, no visible damage is hampering the computer.

Note: Computer has been forced into Windows XP theme?? Unable to switch back to Windows 7 Theme.

Creating a new user
Error Message after creation.
“The user profile service failed the logon. User profile cannot be loaded.”

the reason why you're experiencing is because:

A: ccleaner is only for cleaning system junk such files in the recycle bin, your internet activities....etc. the purpose of this software is not for viruses

B: never install programs you never heard of, the virus you got is probably from the combo software that you installed

C: SuperAntiSpyware is garbage, if you had malware on your computer and malwarebytes wasn't able to detect any of them than SuperAntiSpyware definently didn't remove all of the malwares thats on your computer

D: McAfee is also garbage, when i first bought this computer i installed the mcafee internet security suite that our ISP provided their customers for free and i got infected twice, i installed it once and i got infected, i installed it again and got infected again after about 2 months since i formated the computer

so obviously your computer is infected and here's the reason why i know:

A: you can connect wirelessly but not wired, you called your ISP and they said your connection is fine

B: McAfee is not able to run anything, not even a system scan

C: the error messages you get when you try to make a new user, audio problems, the error message

that you get you're Attempting to play a random mp3 yields :

“Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly.”

and also when you're Attempting to play a random video file:

“Server execution failure”

so i recommend you save all of your files and format your computer and after you do install something more reliable than McAfee such as kaspersky

How to Reset a Dell Desktop & other Computers to Factory Settings

This is usually done as a last resort when viruses can't be removed.

Step 1- Make copies of all things on your PC you want to save, such as photos, documents and other installed programs. Resetting your PC to factory settings

will erase all data on the hard drive. It will erase anything that you installed on your computer after you received it.

Step 2- Restart your computer.

Step 3- As the computer is turning on, you will see a blue bar that says "Dell.com" across the top of your monitor. At this time, press the Ctrl and F11 keys simultaneously. If you wait too long, you will miss the opportunity to do this and will have to restart your computer again.

Step 4- Click the "Restore" option when the next screen appears.

Step 5- Click "Confirm." The PC will begin its resetting process. This process takes approximately 10 minutes.

Step 6- Click "Finish" when the process is complete. Allow the PC to restart itself. Do not restart it yourself since it needs to run through its boot program.

Step 7- Click "Yes" to allow the computer to restart. When it does, it will be at original settings, and you will see the "End User License Agreement" screen.

Click "Next." The System Restore screen will appear, and the computer will do another restart.

Step 8- Once it does another restart, click "OK." You have now reset your Dell desktop to factory settings.

could be a rootkit, does this find anything:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/virus-removal/remove-tdss-tdl3-alureon-rootkit-using-tdsskiller

If the above removes anything, update & re-run malwarebytes.
