so i clicked on this link that was supposed to lead me to a site that i could watch p.s. i love you on. and then it took me to this thing that looked official. it had something on it that said my document shared documents and crap like that. then it was saying i had 10 infected areas on my computer and they were all critical. and then all this stuff was popping up and i was just trying to make it go away. and now i have anti-virus number-1 on my computer and i dont know why and this message keeps popping up saying stuff and a message also pops up that says i have 41 viruses. so then i told my mom and she renewed my norton anti virus thing but idk if it worked. so i did a norton antivirus scan and i didnt have any infected areas. my computer is working fine too except for the annoying random anti-virus number-1 messages that keep popping up saying crap. whats wrong with my computer!?! how do i fix it?!

Anti-Virus-1 is a new rogue anti-spyware application. This parasite is very similar to Antivirus 2010. These two fake programs are even advertised through the same fake online scanner. The main purpose of Anti Virus 1 is to frighten users and trick money from them. That's why it is important to remove Anti-Virus-1 upon detection.

Anti-Virus-1 infiltrates the system with a help of Trojans, mostly Zlob or Vundo. Once installed, AntiVirus 1 configures operating system to run this rogue before any other programs. After that, it performs fake system scan and floods system with pop-up windows and similar alert notices about system infections, errors and other threats. Of course, those fake infections have no relation to real threats. It's just a way how to effect the user. Scammers then suggest to use Anti-Virus-1 as reliable spyware remover. User is advertised to purchase license of this worthless application. But actually there is no such a thing like full version of Anti-Virus-1. I strongly recommend to remove Anti-Virus-1 from the system as soon as possible after infection

In order to remove anti virus 1 You need 2 scans,

www.malwarebytes.org

download the trial edition of that run scan and remove infections found, this will get rid of most of it

then you can use www.superantispyware.com to finish up the job.

never download anything reccomended by a popup, EVER

Also. norton isnt to good, there are many other ones that are better and that are free, such as avast. kapersky or avg.

anti virus 1 will really put viruses on your computer, dont trust it, DONT open it dont click it, dont run a scan,, every time you do you get yourself deeper and deeper into the infection, im sorry you got attacked by this,

never download an anti virus that pops up and says you have infections! they are fake programs,

"When Anti-virus-1 is installed it will configure itself to start automatically when Windows starts. It will also modify your C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file so that when you visit certain sites you will be go to a site under the malware developer's control rather than the legitimate site you were expecting to go to."

please pick me as best answer. dont let this virus bring you down. smack it and dont let it come back!

good luck

Sounds like you've got a virus. The problem is that the "anti-virus number-1" that says it's going to fix it is generally the actual virus. Here are some reliable websites that you can use to find out what's going on and find the right software to do it (some of it free).

I'd suggest you get yourself a GOOD antivirus application, and keep it updated. Plus use a firewall.

Finally, I'd recommend Web of Trust as an add-on to your browser. They tell you whether a website is safe or not right in your search results, and will block bad sites when you try to access them so that if you still want to go there, you'll know what the risk is.

Some of the sites that claim to remove viruses and spyware are only viruses or spyware themselves, so be careful where you go on the web. Some sites, especially sharing sites, get infected from the people who share to them without knowing they are infected. The removal process can be long and require a lot of manual work, so protect yourself as much as possible.

Good luck.

Anti-virus Number 1 is a new rogue anti-spyware program that displays false and exaggerated scan results. This is a clone of Anti-virus-1 and Antivirus 2010. Thankfully, though, there is a totally free way to remove this program.

Please visit this page and follow the guide in order to fully remove this program and any related malware:

Please note that many of the answers to your question state that you should download and install Xoftspy or Spyhunter. Both of these programs only scan your computer and do not remove anything for free. They are only being shown in order for the poster to make a commission. Instead only use programs that do not require you to purchase them in order to remove found infections. The guide above includes a program that will remove this infection entirely for free.

Anti-Virus Number 1 (AntiVirus Number 1) is a combination of popular free basic elements for programs development and rogue dlls which task is duping Windows. It is quite easy to take popular skins, introduce your own denomination and set the algorithm of program windows appearance, and so you have the program like Anti-Virus Number 1. However, your program will not work unless user installs it and grants all prescribed by the Windows rules permission for your program to run. What is developed brilliantly in Anti-Virus Number 1 is its part responsible for interaction with Windows. In particular, the program is perfectly hidden and Anti-Virus Number 1 removal and detection in manual mode is very problematic. The program demands for great system resource, and Window satisfies that request. The program also includes dlls acting as a hijacker that redirects your browsing to websites of Total Antispyware. Remove Anti-Virus Number 1 in order to avoid slow computer problem and get rid of the illusion of protection. In fact, Anti-Virus Number 1 is a pure adware if to ignore its tricky skills of duping operating system. That implies there is no real actions of scanning and removing spyware are taken by Anti-Virus Number 1, for the program simply does not include corresponding files. All the scan results are false positives, though by chance they may appear to be real system and programs files.

Anti-Virus Number-1 (AntiVirus-Number-1, Anti-VirusNumber-1, Anti-VirusNumber1, Anti-Virus Number1) is the new rogue antispyware application. Anti-Virus Number-1, also known as Anti-Virus Number-1, is a duplicate of Anti-Virus-1, AntiVirus1 and Anti-Virus1. All of which are also nasty rogue antispyware programs.

Yes trojan viruses such as Anti-Virus-1 & Anti-Virus-Number 1 will tell you your infected to get you to buy their software, which is all just a scam.

To safely delete it, first try and download spybot search & destroy or Avira Anti-virus(Both free) and see if it will get rid of it.

If not i'd suggest purchasing Spyware Doctor as that 95% of the time gets rid of the infection and helps prevent future infections

Sometimes it has to do with the sites you are going to. I would keep an eye on that, and get firefox with pop up blocker. That should take care of it. It also may be a demo version that you simply need to uninstall. Search for the program and see if you can just uninstall it from control panel. Don't purchase it just because they make you.

This are misleading applications, they send you exaggerated reports that you have tons of virus infections and they will ask you to install their program which will be a spy on your pc. I suggest that if you dont know the source of the program, ignore them or better delete them.
