click on DEB repository, and type the following commands in a terminal.
honestly i don't know why they don't just host http downloads of either deb packages or tarballs of source but this seems to be the only way.
if you did do something wrong, then in a terminal type:
sudo apt-get remove bitdefender
sudo apt-get autoremove
and start over.
it isn't exactly paramount that you have an antivirus on a Linux box unless your running a mail or filesharing server that will also serve Windows and you want protect your Windows clients.
the big thing with Linux is rootkits
i myself like rkhunter, but its command line only. its easy to install with apt-get and to update it you run: sudo rkhunter --update
and to check with it you run: sudo rkhunter -c --sk

You don't need anti-virus software for Linux unless you run a mail server. Linux isn't affected by Windows viruses.

Hi from France Usually anti-viruses slow down the computers, however certain less than others .. You can find another anti-virus so.. Try Avast 5, it is less heavy than Bitdender, also it is free and very good !... There is Microsoft Security Essential, Antivir too .. Have a nice day, Cat.
