You may have to manually remove the virus since the virus may be a new version of the virus. If AV security suite blocks task manager, try using process explorer - http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896653.aspx

Here is a guide to help remove AV Security Suite - http://www.virusremovalguru.com/?p=6257

In Malwarebytes, make sure to update the program to the newest definitions before scanning.

Ugh! I had to do the same thing last week! Interestingly, I also used the very same link you did to remove the Scareware....but it worked perfectly for me. It was a lot of work - switching settings and rebooting and switching things back.

The only thing I can think of, assuming that you ran the "Full Scan" of the Malwarebytes Anti-Malware program (not the quick scan), would be to try this site: http://www.geekpolice.net/malware-removal-guides-f12/remove-av-security-suite-removal-guide-t21929.htm

It was used here on Yahoo Answers a few weeks ago as a solution to removing this malware.

First thing first, you have to fix your internet connection. 1. Press ctrl+shift+esc right after boot. 2. Look for garbage processes under task manager and kill them. Like ewtweotiwet.exe. 3. Go into IE (for FF it is similar), Tools->Internet Options->Connection->Lan settings and remove proxy checkbox. 4. On Vista/7 run Start Then enter notepad in search box, do not press enter. Rightclick once found, then choose run as administrator. On XP, launch it normaly. 5. Open this file : C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc\Hosts and empty it. 6. (Optional) Open in IE Tools->Add-Ons and remove everything that is from companies you do not know. Now you should be able to browse and download software. Google the processes killed in 2nd step. If they are not listed as good, search for them on the disk and delete them. If you can't, Just download malwarebytes or Spyware doctor and they should do that stuff for you. If you cant launch the software, start them from within task manager. (New process, and enter full path to executable).

If you are following the instructions to the letter and not being successful, contact Bleeping Computer. Most likely they will be very interested to follow this up with you, since it might be that the infection has been modified and they will want to know that.

Scan with Spyware Doctor as well, there is a free version at http://pack.google.com. Malwarebytes is good, but no antivirus is 100%.

If you have windows, here's the best thing to do: get rid of windows. Put everything you want to save (files, pics, music) on a flashdrive or rw cd, then wipe your computer clean. Download Ubuntu free and get google chrome. Viruses are nearly impossible to get with ubuntu
