Hey Andy Try This (~_~)

Total Security 2009 Removal Instructions for XP

1.Hit Ctrl Shift and Esc at the same time and bring up your task manager and choose the processes tab and look for 10530004.exe,18384534.exe,tsc.exe and

Sc2C21UvvM.exe? Rt click on them and choose end process.(If you can't shut them down move on)

2.Go to Start -> Run -> Type msconfig -> Ok -> Go in BOOT.INI tab and tick both "Safe boot" and to the right of that "Networking" and hit Apply and Close.(It will boot in "Safe with networking mode" Choose Administrator)

3.While in "Safe with networking mode" download Malwarebytes.

(Note)If you already have Malwarebytes installed and it won't run go in it's program file and rt click on the red mbam app and rename it mbam.bat then rt click and choose send to-> Desktop (create shortcut) now close out of everything and go to your desk top and use that app to launch M-Bam for now on.

4.Right click on the mbam setup app you downloaded and rename it xxxx then Dbl click on it and install and update it and run a full scan and delete/quarantine all entities it finds and restart if it asks? (Note) If it won't update use this link to download and install the latest rules: http://www.malwarebytes.org/mbam/database/mbam-rules.exe

5.Go to Start,Run,type msconfig and hit ok.Go in BOOT.INI tab and untick Safe Boot and then go in the Startup tab and (uncheck) all programs (not) needed at startup (Only check programs you want running all the time like antivirus,IM,etc)"Lesser is better in this case" and hit apply, close, restart.

Your computer will boot normally and on your desktop a window will popup, check "Don't show this message" box and hit ok and your done (~8

Total Security is a nightmare. You did the right thing getting MalwareBytes, too. Rename the malwarebytes executable (it's called mbam.exe and is in the folder "C:\Program Files\Malware Bytes' Anti-Malware") to tool.exe, and you should be able to update and run it.

I'd also recommend getting Avast Home Edition on your machine if it's not already on there (and if you have no other anti-virus). Install it (it's free), download the Avast! skin, update, and schedule a boot time scan.

Also get Spybot Search & Destroy from www.safer-networking.org, download and install the free scanner, update and again run a full scan.

Then, go to bit-defender.com and run the free online scan.

It'll take a little while to get rid of everything but mbam should remove the majority of it.

HERE IS AN EASIER WAY:

1) Go to www.malwarebytes.org and download Malwarebytes

2) Run it and Update it

3) Turn your computer off and start it back up in safe mode. That's when you press F8 over and over again right when you turn the computer on, then use the keyboard keys and navigate to "Start in Safe Mode".

4) Start Malwarebytes and run a full scan

5) Delete everything it finds

Now you should be just fine (start back up in normal mode).

OK shutdown your computer and when it says whatever (dell, toshiba, acer, etc.) press F8 repeatably untill it says safemode and safemode with networking and safemode with command promnt use the arrow keys to click the Safe Mode plain then when it loads and everything run malwarebytes in quick scan try to get a least 18 infected files. then eliminate them and your done, remember after u do that remove it from the control panel.

What you do with malwarebytes is remove the hidden files that reinstalls everytime you try to delete it, and then u just delete it once and for all from the control panel.

Total Security is a fake program that hijacks your computer and tries to force you to buy it. It includes a trojan that blocks you from running almost all major antivirus products as well as block access to their websites, mainly because it does not want to be removed. I recommend that you use a lesser know yet very effective program called SpyNoMore to remove Total Security, as of yesterday it was still not being blocked by the trojan.

try uninstalling it with Perfect Uninstall in the safe mode. That was why I could completely uninstall the copy on my computer for security 2009 always combines so well with the system. It is a little difficult to uninstall it in normal way.
