Okay, so my background on my desktop has been changed to a virus message. How can I get rid of it? When I go into Properties, the wallpaper and screen saver tabs have been removed.
It looks like this by the way: http://i102.photobucket.com/albums/m90/deyeknowsore/0jszohr/bcg.png

THANKS so much to anyone that can help!!

Have you removed the spyware/virus from your computer already? You need to do that first.

Once that is done...you need to disable active desktop. Here is a walk through on how to do that.

What is happening is that your computer is using some webpage (probably one that is saved on your computer) as it's background. If you disable active desktop it won't be able to do that.

Worst case scenario...back up your files and reload your computer

Warning! Win32/privacyremover.M64 is a new Fake message which is associated with AntivirusXP2008, Antivirus XP 2008, Antivirus 2008, Antivirus 2009. Rogue AntiSpyware software. The message says:

“WARNING! Spyware detected on your computer! Install an antivirus or spyware remover to clean your computer.

Warning! Win32/Adware.Virtumonde

Warning! Win32/privacyremover.M64“.

Usually, when you see a message like this in your PC it is usually a desktop background which was changed to such writing, as described in the warning above. There is, though, a small but crucial difference between the reality and the suggestion, namely, this warning message was produced by a trojan, o another malware to trick you into buying the related useless and harmful products like AntivirusXP2008, Antivirus XP 2008, Antivirus 2008, Antivirus 2009. Do not trust the warning and remove Win32/privacyremover.M64, and the related software, as soon as possible.

download MalwareBytes, update it and run it for a quick scan it should be able to clear that up. Otherwise try the latest version of Smitfraudfix and run that in safe mode.
