I keep getting pop ups! why?

Question

Ever since I downloaded Yahoo messenger on my computer I have been getting TONS of pop ups. Ones stateing that I have gone to adult sites and need to clean my computer and pop ups telling me to buy this software to clean my computer etc. Please tell me WHY!!! I log out of Yahoo and they stop I log back in and I get 10 right away! please help me!

You probably have some sort of adware or spyware...etc....you should download Ad-aware and Spy-Bot s&d...both remove "bad stuff" aka pop ups...also microsoft now has a application called windows defender that does the same thing. there all free and use them all, and the problem should go away. Also, you most likely use internet explorer. Try using firefox, less pop-ups. oh,..and delete your browsing histories and cookies... Hope this helps

Try using adaware it will get rid of alot of spy ware that initiates popups. Also make sure you have current updates for windows. And third make sure your virus scanner has the latest definitions.

I GET SAME..I JUST SET MY SPAM TO 1 WEEK AND AUTOMATICALLY GOES TO BULK FOLDER AND WILL BE DELETED..OR TURN ON POP UP BLOCKER..I HAVE THE BEST ONES BUT STILL MICRO TREND PC CILLIN...BUT I HAVE TO NOT FILTER SOME SITES I WANT OPEN..IT BLOCKS EVERTHING DRAMATICALLY..THATS WHY IT HAS A WEB FILTER..

virus popup blocker is off or u got wat i got dont go to the same websites over and over again were the pop ups started or its the spyware thingy



i had that i kept on getting www.guitartabs.com pop ups and i stopped going to some website their it stopped

Turn your popup blocker on.

Righ click on the internet tool bar and select popup blocker and turn it on.
