Here are step by step instructions for complete FREE removal of AntiSpyware Soft.

1. Restart your computer. As your computer restarts but before Windows launches, tap "F8" key constantly. Use the arrow keys to highlight the "Safe Mode with Networking" option and then press ENTER.

2. Open Internet Explorer. Click on the Tools menu and then select Internet Options.

3. In the the Internet Options window click on the Connections tab. Then click on the LAN settings button.

4. Now you will see Local Area Network (LAN) settings window. Under Proxy Settings, click the Advanced button, and delete the IP address listed there, and press OK. Uncheck the checkbox labeled Use a proxy server for your LAN under the Proxy Server section and press OK.

5. Download SuperAntiSpyware Free edition at http://www.superantispyware.com/ . Perform a quick scan and quarantine everything. It will tell you it has to reboot which is fine to do in normal mode this time.

6. Now back in normal mode, run SAS again, this time doing a complete scan. You should now be rid of this annoying malware. Quarantine anything it finds, and then go to your quarantine log and remove (delete) all quarantined items.

7. The trojan that installed this annoying thing will remain on your computer invisible to all antivirus software and can also install other malware such as a browser hijacker which will cause google and yahoo search items to mysteriously redirect to advertised sites. The only way to get rid of this trojan installer was with Combofix which you can find at http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe .

Download this and run it even if it seems like Antispyware Soft is completely gone (have patience).

8. Many antivirus applications that failed to detect this thing in the first place (I use AVG) become inactivated by the virus and may need to be reinstalled. I recommend a complete uninstall/reinstall to make sure that it's back working again.

You have got what I just removed now. You will not be able to start any program now. So do this:

1. Start your computer.

2. Quickly click on your norton virus to scan the system. If you don't hurry up the antivirus soft will start and block you from doing this by saying that your norton virus software is infected.

3. Once the scanning begins, the virus wont be able to stop it. So use the time to remove the spyware.

4. Even after you remove the virus your IE will be disabled cuz the virus changes the proxy setting. I dont know how to fix it. I asked about it here on yahoo answers.

Pretending to be a spyware remover, Antispyware Soft has one primary objective: to scare its victims into purchasing its licensed version. Once inside the designated system, it will obscurely creates hundreds of fake malware entities in the infiltrated system.

First thing you should do now is to try to get a refund. If you paid with Paypal, file a COMPLAINT. If you paid with your credit card, file a CHARGEBACK by calling the number on the back of the card. If you paid Paypal with your credit card, you can do both.

Next to remove this crap: Download and run MalwareBytes Anti-Malware. MBAM is known to be rather useful in detecting and removing malware infections. There is a free version of the software available:

http://www.malwarebytes.org/

Once downloaded, close all programs and windows on your computer.

Double-click on the icon on your desktop named mbam-setup.exe.

This will start the installation of MalwareBytes Anti-malware onto your computer.

When the installation begins, keep following the prompts in order to continue with the installation process.

Do not make any changes to default settings and when the program has finished installing, make sure a checkmark is placed next to “Update Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware” and Launch “Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware”. Then click Finish.

MalwareBytes Anti-malware will now automatically start and you will see a message stating that you should update the program before performing a scan. If an update is found, it will download and install the latest version.

Now make sure the “Perform quick scan” option is selected and then click on the Scan button to start scanning your computer. When the scan is finished a message box will appear that it has completed scanning successfully. Click OK. Now click “Show Results”

Ensure all entries have a checkmark at their far left and click “Remove Selected” button to remove what has been found.

If this fails, or if you believe your computer to be infected still, there are forums on the Internet where trained specialists help to completely disinfect your PC at NO cost. One such forum is:

All you have to do is remember when you noticed the attack or slowdown of whatever and System Restore to a date before that. As for Antivirus software, Windows and Microsoft are coming out with updates to their security system almost daily. The updates are slowing to the computer system and some updates are not for your computer exactly but it doesn't hurt. Understand that if you have a virus and you are on this site, you could be transmitting the virus to everyone on this site; so, I don't think it is a virus you are dealing with.

Get rid of Norton, at all costs, they do get rid of some viruses, but add others. AVG or McAfee are the best to download. Get one or the other, but not both. I have heard nightmarish stories from several of my friends who have had Norton on their computer. You might have to do a system restore, to get rid of the virus, but all your files will be restored as backups.

its the virus, most likely. it changed internal files and emulated servers to make your anti-virus software think it is expired. and only freeware anti-virus programs are free, but are slow and unreliable. my recommendation, redo your computer by a reformat. there are a numerous questions about this. just search for reformatting computer in y! answers and it will explain the whole process. of course, if you were using a trial or bought your anti-virus a year ago, then it is expired, and you need to reinstall it.

I think that the biggest problem is not having the "full" version of anti-spyware which guarantees real time protection. The main reason why all these pop-ups reappear is because of malware files that may not be fully removed from your computer, so try other variants of anti-spyware programs, besides, get the "full" version.
