Hey there i have windows 7 and i realized that alot of my media i.e. my videos, songs and pictures have a .sfk extension to some of the files e.g. on a folder of about 10 songs, about 5 songs have a named copy of the song with an extension of " .sfk " example Linkin Park-Blackout.mps (song name) there will be a file of about 30kb of the same name, but just an extension of .sfk "Linkin Park-Blackout.mp3.sfk

Any ideas?

those are sound Forge peak files.

Sound Forge is a program used for producing music there's a chance someone was using these files in the process of making some sort of an audio loop for a song

Are you unable to play the songs?

This ver well might be a ripping thing if you can still play them perhaps the abbreviation you added when you ripped/ downloaded it?

If you cant play then Try downloading the K-Lite codec pack it should have every song and video codec for you.
