i think my computers has a virus. :(

when it starts up it encounters the following error: Isass.exe - System Error, "When trying to update a password, the return status indicates that the value provided as the current password is not correct." Then it goes into a spiral of rebooting all by itself.. I have tried F12 and selecting Safe Mode, Last Known Good Configuration, and Start Windows Normally, and it allways comes back to the same error and starts the rebooting cycle. I've searched for solutions online, but a lot of them require the Windows disc or being in Windows. I can't even get to my desktop or any part of Windows.

what can i do? any thoughts? help!

you can try the installation repair of the xp disc. boot to the cd, on th efirst menu choose choose repair it will drop you to the repair console then log into 1 and enter and then your administrator password (if you didnt make one then leave blank) enter. when you are at the c:\windows prompt type in chkdsk /p and that will run check disk and it will check system files and repair them. if that doesnt work, reboot and boot to the cd again, on the first menu choose install windows then f8 for the eula and on hte second menu choose repair, this will repair the install and pretty much does an upgrade on itself so all your programs will be intact. this will take about 45 minutes.

If you can't get in, your one and only option is to boot off a startup disc. If you don't have one, you'll have to take it somewhere. Most places that repair PC's keep some generic startup discs for situations like these. Good luck!
