I am working on a friend's computer. He had one of those fake anti viruses which I am seeing a lot more of lately. This one is called Internet Security 10 and the bad files were Scandisk.dll any way I got 99.9% of it now when I boot it up it flashes a solid pink screen (the virus loading) for one soilid second then goes to the widows xp log on screen when I click on a user's icon it starts to load then the pink screen flashes for a millisecond and the icon goes from logging on to logging off. Any ideas. I have a the bad hard drive in an external enclosure hooked up to my computer as a slave so I can delete individual files if you can tell me where they are.

Thank You.

Can you login using Windows Safe Mode? If you can, you can run a virus scan from there.
