Okay, so my computer has had this Windows Anti virus Pro for months on and off. McAfee is not doing its job, and neither is Malwarebytes. I've had AVG and several others to no avail. Each time, I follow several different suggestions in attempting to get rid of this evil thing and nothing works but reinstalling my OS. The main problem is that I reinstall my OS, all my programs, McAfee, Malwarebytes, etc. and then in a month or two, the virus is back, knocking on my PC's door with "Install Updates" crap. Obviously, I don't click on it, but the devil thing installs anyway. I don't download anything on my computer that isn't legal, I don't visit sites that I shouldn't, so I don't know where I could possibly be picking up this virus. Removal help, prevention, etc. would be much appreciated. I am so tired of dealing with this!

Removal: Press alt + control = delete. Click on the proceses tab. Locate Anti-virus pro within the list. Right click on it and choose "End Process". You state that Malwarebytes is not detecting and/or removing the virus. I would ask if you are updating Malwarebytes prior to the scan. Malwarebytes does remove Anti Virus Pro. If you are using a router I suggest you check your security settings. Also, get rid of McAfee and install Avast Home Edition. It's much better. Also, I would recommend you downloard Hijack This and choose "Scan system and save file log. Once the scan is complete the log file will open. Copy and paste the results into the text box of the third link below (although the main menu window offers you to upload the file log it is much faster to copy and paste). After pasting, click analyze and wait for the results to display. Scroll down the list to find all entries with a red x next to them. Locate those entries in the Hijack This main window and place check marks in the respective boxes. After all invalid entries have been marked click on "fix selected". Good luck!!

if i was you i would get rid of mcafee because it doesnt remove much of anything.get avast or avira and firefox browser with addons noscript and wot(web of trust) then you need to boot into safe mode then turn your antivirus program to its highest setting run a full scan but when finished return settings to normal.get ccleaner run it when finished there run malwarebytes delete what ever it finds then restart your computer. here are a couple of good websites for security www.techsupportalert.com and www.download.com

I'm sorry. It was like that with my old computer. I eventually just gave up on it and got a new one... after months of trying, though.

Perhaps you should take your computer to a professional. Look in your phonebook for locals, or go to someplace like Staples or the Office Depot. Many charge per half hour. They may or may not be able to get rid of it. Before you give up your computer to them, go in and ask for references and contact those references. Ask if the place has fixed anything close to your specific computer problem.
