Can anyone tell me how to get rid of them? I don't know if its a virus/malware/adware or whatever you call it. I have no knowledge in that. I tried AVG but even when I press "move to vault" it does not help.

Is there any FREE and GOOD program to get me out of this ****?

Note: I got 4 pop ups typing this, 5th one now.

Do yourself a favor and d/l Malwarebytes at http://www.malwarebytes.org This is a free program that is excellent at wiping out adware.

Install the progam, update it and scan. If you don't get anything, I'd re-boot into safe mode (tell comuter to reboot, hit F8 key before windows loads) and scan then.

Also the advice above about Firefox is good. It is more secure than internet explorer. http://www.mozilla.com

Your machine is infected. Pop-ups are mostly caused by adware, spyware, and other malicious and unwanted software and using pop-up blocker won't help an infected PC. Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware are the best anti-spyware applications available (you can have more than one). Other free anti-spyware programs would be Spybot Search & Destroy, Adaware, AVG Anti-spyware (formally Ewido), A-squared, Spyware Terminator and SpywareBlaster.

AVG is an anti-virus and you need anti-spyware in addition. Avast! or AntiVir are also free alternatives to AVG (install only 1).

Running virus removal programs in Safe Mode (tap F8 as the computer boots up and choose to boot to safe mode) can be more effective. The idea behind the Safe Mode is that the operating system would only load your essential programs and drivers to the memory and hence there is a “high” chance that the virus-infected file is on the drive but not loaded into memory.

I strongly recommend using Firefox as your primary Web browser, It is safer and better than Internet Explorer. Get the add-on NoScript for Firefox to prevent click-jacking. The AdBlock Plus extension will allow you to surf virtually ad-free. If you add-on McAfee SiteAdvisor, it will warn you of potentially harmful sites. I also recommend CCleaner which is a free system optimization and privacy tool.

properly, i might recommend what maximum anyone else has pronounced, different than I word you pronounced you computing device replaced into advantageous until you d/L'ed some thing a million hour in the past. curiously you have Virus protection (be helpful to replace your Virus Definitions, in spite of the fact that if..just to be secure) and you have spyware/undercover agent ware protection i think of? have you ever scanned your finished computing device w/AdAware additionally? The pop up thingy sounds extra like some style of undercover agent ware or malware than an definitely virus. The virus must be the report that the popup is attempting to get you to d/L. do no longer D/L that application w/e you do. For now, basically unistall this equipment you further an hour in the past, sparkling your browser's cache, and delete all stored cookies. Then re-start up your computing device and notice what happens. truly attempt to get the computing device back to the acceptable state it replaced into in a million hr in the past; that's what i'm shooting for right here.

Unlike typical pop-up ads

(stopped with available blockers), 3rd party cookies are entirely different critters. When PC's (personal confusers) misbehave, like pop-up's, going to unrequested sites, goofy warnings, etc.; one step to help reduce annoying pop-ups & unrequested websites from being displayed on your machine is to turn off 3rd party cookies, and always leave them off.

****************

These are general settings:

INTERNET EXPLORER: Tools> Internet Options> Privacy> Advanced: here check 'Override automatic....'; 'Allow session cookies'; 'Allow 1st party cookies'; & 'Block 3rd Party Cookies'.

FIREFOX: Tools> Options> Privacy: Check 'Accept Cookies from sites' & Un-Check 'Accept 3rd Party cookies'

****************

For nearly ad-free pages when surfing; use Firefox with these add-ons:

Flashblock: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/433

Add block plus: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/1865

Because architecture of the Internet (notably 'Flash' scripting), vulnerabilities are readily exploited in Internet Explorer, & it is now urgent that you

use Firefox with 'NoScript' add-on, which will prevent "Click-jacking'.

NoScript: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722

Note: Some current 'rouge' malware will undo this change, so you might have to redo this step after malware has been eliminated.
