Question:
Did Microsoft Update really install?
?

Last night(6/23/10) I received notification from Microsoft on a windows update-
System Update Readiness Tool for Windows Vista (kb 947821)

I downloaded the update and then began the process for installing it.
The installation seemed to stop at 85% and seemed to continue to “install” for about 45 mins
My wife clicked the “cancel installation” button with the thought we’d attempt to install the next day (6/24/10)
However after the fact, I read the associated bulletin from Microsoft it said that it could show stuck at 65%
BUT TO NOT CANCEL the installation. But we did albeit after 45 minutes 
Also indicated that it seemed more of an update that ran a scan rather than an updated file.

So this morning (6/24/10) I look at my installed updates expecting to see update failed to install.
However today when I checked on “installed” updates, this update was listed as installed status successful
I was going to delete the update, search for new updates (hoping that it would be downloaded again)
and then try again to make sure that it was truly installed. But there is now way to delete the update

So what should I do now?
1. Just take it for fact that if it says installed that it ran and did it’s thing and all is cool?
2. Should I try to manually run this update?
3. Is there a file location that I can check to see if the file is in place?

If you went up to the Microsoft updates and it scanned your computer for any security or patches needed or updates...and it said NO HIGH PRIORITY UPDATES REQUIRED......then your fine and the security update was installed...........

If the update later showed the status successful you should be ok. Looking at the support article it gives a location where you can view a log file.

while Vista or any domicile windows replace won't setting up it incredibly is because of the undeniable fact that your computer the two has the replace already or your computer would not want the replace at that categorical time... replace that are no longer needed or are already on the equipment won't setting up, purely because of the fact they do no longer seem to be needed... wish to have been of information to you... i'm an authorized Technician.
