(1) When I turn on my computer, a small black screen shows up and quickly disappears. It says something along the lines of "system32.cmd cannot find specified path". what does it mean? what should I do?
(2) my computer does not let me defrag but it does let me in safe mode. I've also done a virus/spyware scan with my norton 360 in safe mode but nothing shows up. I've also ran chkdsk and nothing.
(3) whenever i'm on the internet, i have 2 iexplore.exe running when i only have one window open. is this normal? when i close IE they go away. I've reinstalled my internet explorer 8 but it still runs two of them in taskmanager. it's so frustrating 'cause it slows down my computer!! :(

any help will be useful!
THANKS!

In IE8, you can go to

Tools

>Internet Options

>Advanced

>Reset...*

* Warning! This will loose any personal settings you have including add-ons, favorites, bookmarks and passwords, and still may not work. It's your decision whether it is worth trying.

As for performance:

Start

>run

>msconfig

Is where you can prevent unnecessary processes from starting with windows. Just be careful to research anything you aren't sure about.

As for the prompt thing at the beginning, if you are really hellbent on stopping that, you can look through your system logs and probably get at least a vague idea of what's happening:

Start

>Control Panel

>Administrator Tools

>Event Viewer

I would expect the error to show up in Application or System logs. Once you have these, you may be able to determine which process is causing the error, or at least know the exact wording so that you can search for it more specifically. Who knows, maybe it's even one of those startup processes that you could disable through msconfig.

Happy hunting! Hope this was helpful.

csrss.exe is the main executable for the Microsoft Client/Server Runtime Server Subsystem. This process manages most graphical commands in Windows. This program is important for the stable and secure running of your computer and should not be terminated. Note: csrss.exe is a process which is registered as a trojan. This Trojan allows attackers to access your computer from remote locations, stealing passwords, Internet banking and personal data. This process is a security risk and should be removed from your system. Determining whether csrss.exe is a virus or a legitimate Windows process depends on the directory location it executes or runs from. Check that csrss.exe is stable on your computer.
