Basically, I have encountered the Metropolitan Police Virus, UKASH. Which some of you may know of, it stated that I was looking at child porn, and this has annoyed me because I was using a movie website. I have encountered this before and I just switched my computer off and it never came back until now. It also tried to record me via webcam, luckily i had it covered by black tape. So this time I tried to remove it but the removal schemes seemed confusing so I did what I knew could have been done, I did a system restore back to an earlier date. Now the computer is fine however, I have started to get worried due to the fact that it is only a system restore and it only goes back to a certain time, I want to know that the silly virus created by silly people is removed from my computer so it doesn't intercept any of my details, quite frankly I'm really worried about my privacy, details and god forbid my banking details.
Also it turned my webcam on!! I mean this is definitely something to be worried about isn't it?
I appreciate the time taken to help me 100% (if i get any, that is XD)

No, system restore doesn't remove or stall the virus, the most important thing to do is run your Anti-Virus or Anti-spyware to remove it , make it a full scan, at the end you will have the report if the program found a virus-spyware or any kind of threat for your computer.

Going one step forward the optimum way to do it is run the Anti-virus on Safe Mode and that will complete eliminate the threat.

Reboot your computer after done in safe mode, some virus hide really deep in your system, and this is the most secure way to eliminate it.

Your process wasn't trashed with Virus infections. It used to be adware and malware. And even though Norton was once the Shiznit again within the day, it is not any more. I can't tell you how many patrons have introduced their closely contaminated, "Norton included" machines in for an endemic/adware cleaning. However, you are going to pay for whatever makes you think at ease. At any cost, wiping the procedure smooth and establishing over manufacturing unit fresh will constantly be infinitely higher than only a good cleansing.

System restore undoes installations, update installations, etc. However, it does not remove files. Your best bet would be to run an anti-virus scanner. Microsoft Security Essentials is highly popular program developed by Microsoft, and it completely free. Simply install this and run a full scan. Hopefully it will detect the virus, allowing you to remove it completely from your computer.

scan with a good antivirus and antimalware program, if you are still worried you should format the hard drive and reinstall windows, its not hard to do , just follow the instructions as you go, a fresh install would clear everything bad off your pc
