Just as Rahul stated activate the two-Factor Authentication technology where you can telesign into your account account by entering a one-time PIN code which is delivered to your phone via SMS or voice. Or if you don't want to do this every single time, some offer the option to designate your smartphone, PC, or tablet as a trusted device and they will allow you to enter without the text code. Should an attempt to login from an unrecognized device happen, it would not be allowed. It is worth the extra time it takes to setup and have the confidence that your account won't get hacked and your personal information isn't up for grabs.

You should run a virus scan with your installed antivirus program. Some deep infections may still are in your system, such as rootkit or Trojans.

You can see the IP address and additional information from where your account has been accessed by clicking on the "Details" link at the bottom of your GMail page.

i think keeping a security question with a totally unknown answer which only you could know, might help.

But if you want more security then there is is a option 'security' under 'option' or 'help' and u could increase your email security

Enable two factor authentication. In future if someone will be able to get your password again, the two factor authentication won't let him to logon. The google's two factor authentication sends an OTP (one time password) on your mobile via SMS. To enable two factor authentication follow these steps:

1. Click on your email at right upper corner of your Gmail inbox

2. Select Account = account settings page will appear

3. Click on Settings on the list on your left side

4. Enable "2-step verification"
