Question:
Trojan alert detection and registryfix.com alert?

I started getting strange alerts tonight. The first said there was some error that was forcing my computer to shut down. Rather than allow it, I shut it down myself, then restarted. I ran a spyware scan and a virus scan after restarting...both of which returned results that there were no threats.

After about fifteen minutes of being online, I was knocked offline and then received a message stating that I should run something called www.registryfix.com. Now, I keep getting knocked offline, and getting that message, along with a message from my AVG saying that a Trojan threat has been detected, and asks if I want to heal it. I have healed it twice, but both errors keep coming back.

What exactly is registryfix.com? Is this part of the Trojan that my AVG has discovered?

I am also wondering if the detection is coming from the fact that my wireless signal went out, and I am now stuck using dial up. I haven't used it on this computer before, so I'm wondering if my AVG is confusing the modems drivers as a virus? The alerts didn't start until I switched over to dial up...

Can anyone help? Each Trojan warning is coming from a different source, and I'm wondering if maybe I have a virus that I can't clean out with regular virus protection. Can I clean out my registry without having to download a strange software I know nothing about?

Any help here would be greatly appreciated. This is the last pc I have left, and I really need it to last at least for three more weeks until I'm finished with school...

Do a system restore for the day before this started happening.

Try running the Kaspersky on line scanner. If it will not let you then you have a Trojan virus on your machine. In other words the virus will not let you run the scanner' You know then that you have a virus. I checked registryfix.com at site advisor and it gives it a green rating. Use it if you wish.

It could be a worm or a trogan. when you are going on line does an internet window pop up and say that u have all the erors or what cause if it is an internet pop up do not trust it it is usualy a bad trogan virus worm or even spyware.
