I receive Internet Explorer Pop-ups while using Mozilla Firefox. What can I do to stop this? I have a pop-up blocker, but, they randomly show up when I'm not using I.E., so it doesn't make sense that they appear. I did have a trojan virus at one point, but my computer is clean now (or so I think). How would I be able to stop this annoying occurance?

hello how are you my friend ?

take my advice and dont use firefox it has too many bugs !.

if you are not using the latest version of internet explorer 7 i suggest that you download and install this.

i would also suggest you review your security measures for extra reassurance on your computer.

iam going to post you some very usefull links to help you out.

http://www.avast.com/

http://www.microsoft.com/athome/security/spyware/software/default.mspx

http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad_aware_free.php

http://iisoftware.net/index.php?clean.html

http://www.snapfiles.com/get/ultrawipe.html

http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx

http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/default.aspx?ln=en-us

the above links are for, free antivirus, antispyware, secure file shredders, windows defender, internet explorer 7 download, microsoft update website too.

you will have to register for avast antivirus and a license key will be emailed to your email account.

avast works for 60 days if not registered and then will become a full program for 12 months after registration.

when avast expires just download it again and request a new license key for 12 months its easy.

i also suggest that you read all the user manuals for any of the above programs you download before using them.

ultrawipe if used incorrectly can be a very dangerous program and will erase all your memory and hard drive

space.

your computer might also need critical updates from microsoft so i have posted the update website link for you.

just 1 final thing if your windows license is not genuine dont use the windows update website it will detect its a pirate.

iam just merely saying this because its happened to a few people previously through no fault of there own.

good luck and happy computing everyone.

There is a setting somewhere for windows that can be unchecked and stops all windows related pop ups. It is not Mozilla that is the problem.

I believe you go into the control panel, open add and remove, look for the standard programs, go through the list. Near the bottom there should be one called windows messenging, uninstall it.

Wait for some one with a better answer, because I'm not on a windows computer right now.

It could be that your blocker is setup to allow popups through on certain sites. I have two blockers on and some still get through.

Google toolbar has a blocker feature that works most of the time. You might try uninstalling Firefox and use the one provided by IE. Check your security settings and see if something is off that should be on.

Trojan Horses is not a virus, it is a melicious Program that can cause damage to your computer. Trojans do not reproduce by infecting other files nor do they self replicate themselves. To get rid of Trojans you need to run your spyware program. If you don't have one then here is a link to one that I know most here recomends. (http://www.superantispyware.com) Run this program in your Internet Explores to make sure that the trojan is completely gone, after that then go to Mozella and run it in there (the spyware program) This should help. Good Luck.
