I had spam mails attached with exe, bat, pif, doc and various ms office files. But nowadays I started to have many spam mails which have pdf files attached.
What is the threat under it? Are there any security problems in Adobe Acrobat (or Reader)? What should I do to get protected?

These are not dangerous - just b!%*dy annoying! The .pdf contains stock images for things like Shares to try to overcome the filters that were blocking the previous email style with embedded image.

The advice, as always, is not to open any attachments unless they are from a known and trusted source and to put as many filters and blocks on as you can.

The article below has interesting information on this latest annoyance.

Don't click the PDF.

Install good virus protection and make sure its up to date.

Simplest answer is not to open the e-mail and mark it as spam to be deleted.

Basically if you don't know the source of the file don't open it.

yes, you can get infected by opening a pdf file. not matter what type of attachment is on the spam email, do not open it! well unless you are very curious and interested in what will happen next.

I think you don't have to worry about it. Just keep those spam e-mails on junk/bulk. Or if possible block the e-mail sender.
