Mac sent virus emails after torrent. What to do?

I m a Windows man. I recently showed my friend how to download torrents and installed qbittorrent on her MacBook. After a few days she showed me a picture of a naked woman in a popup. Now two days later, she says that some people received spam virus emails sent from her email address. On a Windows computer I d know what to do. But she uses a MacBook Air, and I ve got no clue how to help...

Whatever was installed from the downloaded file had been doctored (around 80% of such illicit files will have been) to exploit the computer. You can check the Mac...

But the chances are the email details have been harvested and being used and the erroneous emails are not coming from the Mac itself.

Haven't you heard?? A Mac can not get viruses!! Therefore, there are no cleaning products available.

YOu have the virus, you are stuck with the virus until you buy a new machine!

Once people realise that Mac's can get viruses, then things wll be done to help you...
