Today... I opened my computer, and 2 things I never downloaded were on my desk top..

I immediately tried to block one of them from my computer, but it wouldn't work.

I asked all my family members if they downloaded anything. They're answer was no.

I then automatically went to my computer, and un-installed them...

My computer has been acting a little weird this past month, slow, and ect...

HELP?

Is it a hacker?
How can I stop this without downloads, and without paying?

its a virus, a hacker would be way more subtle...your computer would be owned (everything deleted) and there would be no trace

You can install a firewall to prevent any intruders or from entering your computer. Make sure you turn off your computer when not in use or if you leave your computer on constantly but never use it. Turn off your modem. Your best bet to prevent the same person from hacking is to restore your computer with the recovery CD's that came with your computer which will wipe your computer of any trojan horses or programs installed by the hacker. Once you do that, you're computer will run like new! Make sure to back up your data though as the restore will delete everything on your hard drive. Cheers!

Arm yourself with a few free utilities like C Cleaner, Malware Bytes AntiMalware, and AVG.

Also, update your IE browser and service pack, if you haven't done that. They have new security patches to help prevent viruses.

Well first things first. Unplug your network cable and use another computer to download the programs that were suggested, and transfer them to your computer through a flash drive.

Go here and do a complete scan http://usa.kaspersky.com/downloads/free-virus-scanner.php

I would recommend you get a free antivirus program http://download.cnet.com/Avira-AntiVir-Personal-Free-Antivirus/3000-2239_4-10322935.html?part=dl-10322935&subj=dl&tag=button&cdlPid=11012914

You absolutely must have some type of protection on your pc otherwise it is if you have your front door open to the world.

And as for a firewall I would go with Zonealarm http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en-us/zonealarm-pc-security-free-firewall.htm
