I am using windows vista. I am using Norton Internet Security 2008. I have 2 years of subscription. I am not able to update it. When i run live update, checking for updates has been successful but downloading updates is failed. Hence processing updates has been skipped.. I have tried updating it several times. Every 3-4 hrs, but it is useless. Please tell me a way to fix this. Tell me a way to "DOWNLOAD THEM MANUALLY"....
Urgent..!!

hi mystic, what i would recommend is hit start>settings>control panel and hit programs&features and uninstall when that is done then reboot when you get back to your desktop then reinstall your norton it will automatic update itself. i had the same problem with norton so i went to avg when i got a virus and they just apoligized to me they could not help so i went to kaspersky and i have been happy with them ever since then. they upgrade every thirty seconds and they do not take you for granted i have had them for five years now with no complaints all of the computer geeks are going to kaspersky so they know something. if i had a complaint it would be that they are sending me to upgrade the subscription of my virus protection real early before my old subscription is up but that is not a complaint it is making sure that i am up to date with my virus protection. they are very reputible and after five years i have to say they are the best and i have had them all. good luck hope i was helpful to you

You need to update to Norton Internet Security 2011, just make sure you still have you product key. If not set up a Norton account through Your Norton program. You can also go to Norton and try their update tool it may work. Malware has change a lot and using a old version is a big mistake.Try this link

easy fix Norton sucks. download Microsoft Security Esentials It is free , wont use so much memory, and updates with microsoft updates, and it finds more new viruses. If you happen to be the first to ever getr that virus microsoft will pop a message for you to send it to them and will get you the fix soon.

I'd use Avast http://www.avast.com/eng/download-avast-home.html but I agree with the other answers. Using Norton is almost worse than using nothing. Using ANY Symantec product is a mistake.
