Avg free edition???????????

If you want to get rid of pop ups in avira just go to scheduler and change the daily updater to invisible and the pop ups go away.

AVG free is garbageware. It has no rootkit protection either.

People think "80 million users? It MUST be good!"

Even though it says ON THEIR OWN SITE that it has no rootkit protection.

I'm with you on this one.

I use Avast Home Edition and I've never had any issues. If Avira didn't nag, I might use that instead.



EDIT: Thanks for the tip, but I'm sticking with Avast for now, it's a great program.

Also, people aren't safe using ANY anti-virus program if they use Limewire. Not even the paid AV's are 100%. Limewire is a computer killer, just like all the rest of the P2P programs.

I never had a problem out of avast! so far. With AVG, my first computer got fried by using Limewire.

I think the question is why do you get so upset with people who don't have a problem with AVG. I have been using it for years and have never had an issue. I am not saying that Avira is not better to be honest I have never heard of it before, but I am just curious about your need to belittle anyone who likes a different AV solution.

when i trash avg i am trashing the PRODUCT not the people who use it.personally i don't care if a user wants to run a half assed anti-virus.its there computer.what gets me is when i hear avg fan boy saying avg is better than kaspersky.avira premium,eset nod32,bit defender etc.clearly avg crapware is not better than the other products i have listed.i base that on solid facts.if people want to use free avg go ahead.its still garbage.

The unfastened version of avg is only an antivirus, finding on what fit of norton you have it is advisable to get an firewall and anti- undercover agent ware as properly. you pays circulate get the two certainly one of those from avg, even with the undeniable fact that that form of defeats the "unfastened" section.

because the average user doesn't know any better, and AVG is well advertised. Your right though AVG is absolutely garbage, no rootkit protection, its a system hog, and it only gives base antivirus protection only. Why anyone would want to use this is beyond me.

Is it's free why *****?--You get what you pay for,and since it's free.....
