*Not necessarily the right place for this, but the answer is surprisingly simple. Call your cell phone provider, or have your parents do it, and you can have the phone company put a block and that number from calling you.

How many calls have you been getting and what time of day have these calls been coming in? What have you heard when you answer the phone?

If the calls are coming in at night after 9:00 pm then you have a stalker to worry about, this you have to take to the police and the cell phone company, and if the calls are coming from another cell phone, they can find the person making them. If the calls are coming from a standard landline account, they can find that landline. If the calls are coming over a VOIP setup, that's going to be harder to trace.

If the calls are coming in the daytime before 9:00 pm then it is possible you are getting calls from fraudulent telemarketers. There has been a huge rash of these brats making calls to every possible telephone number trying to sucker people into giving them credit card numbers or other personal non-public identification. The pitches are for car warranties, burial insurance, diabetic medication, senior citizen assistance, credit-card account adjustments, etc. etc. My land line gets 5 of these a day, except on Sunday. My cell phone gets at least two of these a week, but since I have never given the cell number to anyone but relatives I figure it's an unknown number to these pests. I have gotten these calls for years, but the current barrage started in November 2007 and has continued every day since.

These fraudulent calls are made by a "robo-call" or automatic dialing machine, which detects if the call is answered and then starts its prerecorded message. Sometimes the machine does not detect the answer and does not start its prerecorded message, all that is there is silence until you hang up.

As these businesses are fraudulent, they ignore the "Do Not Call List" where you may have already registered your cell number.

I know you can stop blocked numbers from calling a house phone through the phone company but I'm not sure about cell phones. I once inquired about having a certain number blocked from my phone but I was told that it is impossible on a cell phone. I think the only option is to change your number which I highly recommend if this person is stalking you. If they are going further than joking around, I'd also contact the police.

Only your cell phone provider can block public numbers, and even then it's a hassle. If the calls are Private, Blocked or Unknown numbers, your provider won't be able to block them. You might want to get your local law enforcement involved if the problem has escalated at all. They may not be able to block a number per se, but they can certainly put a restraining order and take necessary means to keep this jerkoff away from you.

You'll need to contact your cell provider and see if there is anything they can do. Some phones have this feature built in, some providers provide it for a nominal fee, in short, it varies and there is no "one stop" method to blocking someone from calling your cell.

If you have this person's phone number report it and let the law enforcement agencies deal with it. Have you thought about changing your number? Contact your cell company for a new SIM card.

you can't block anonymous calls, if the number is withheld. what i would do, is ring your cellphone company. i had this problem, and they gave me a new simcard for free, but transferred all of my free texts and credit across to it, so you get a new number. then you're completely free of them. good luck (:

I have a nice app- LEO Privacy, which helps me to block all spam and unwanted calls and lock all private apps.
