Please if anyone can help on how to delete 3-Trojan.Brisv.Alinf. I have Norton 2009 the whole package and after scanning three days ago, Norton said I had 3 unresolved Trojan.Brisv.Alinf. I went to the website and download the Norton Symantic Remover tool and after scanning it said no virsus found. I scan Norton full custom scan and still there. I download another remover tool call Trojan Remover and it took about two hours and it said it found a file but it didnt delete it or get rid of the virsus. I goggle command prompts and started with the control panel and system tools and turn off system restore. Then I restarted computer ran another scan and virus still there.. Then I tried the command prompt of typing in attrib. autorun.inf. -h-s-r and it said file not found in the drive. Last thing, I tried the command prompt again because the virus is located in users.\annieloe\documents\limewire\saved\everybody keeny chesney. mps, so i typed that in because its located in the c: drive and it still there. Oh last thing, I also tried to run these scans in safe mode... I deleted the files from limewire ---still have virus please can anyone help...cuz Norton 2009 isnt. they said to remove manually but It wont let me ...please if anyone knows how to delete thur command prompts or anything just to remove this please help...

1 find the file that supports the spyware. (go to your start menu and go to "search". do a search on the name of suspected spyware.)

2 delete it, it'll probably have an error message, if it does then go to the task manager ( ctrl, alt, del) and go to processes find the suspected spyware and end process.

3 go back to the file and delete it. it should go away with no problem.

If that doesn't work then use an antispyware software.

I went to the Norton-Symantec website today 2-10-09 and they have added an option to save and download the Trojan.Brisv.Alinf removal tool. It was just added to the technical support and customer support page today. I saved the removal tool to my desktop, printed the easy 8 steps and shut my computer down and started back up in "safe mode". All you have to do then is click on the icon for the removal tool then "Run" and I just removed the virus. I have chatted with tech support for the past 3 days and got nowhere without the extra fees until now. I do not recommend Norton, but this only took about 30 minutes and follow the steps exact and it will fix it. When you run the Norton removal tool you must do it exactly how they tell you to. It is very important. Also you should do it in safe mode. You must also disconnect from the internet. Turn off system restore. Then run the tool in safe mode. After you restart your computer run the tool again. You should now be clean. Now turn on system restore. Connect your computer back to the internet. That's a nasty trojan that users are getting from limewire. Norton is one of the few programs that catches it. Most of the Security software does not even see it. What do you mean It won't let you?

This seems to be a problem related to Norton and I'm wondering if it's a false-positive, i.e. Norton is finding an infection that doesn't really exist.

Can you submit the files to http://virusscan.jotti.org/ At very the top of the page you can select the file to upload, then click 'Submit'. This will run the file through lots of different anti-virus engines. If many of them report an infected file then I'd say you have an infection. If not, I'd say it's a f/p.

People seem to be having luck removing Brisv by running the special Norton/Symantec Trojan.Brisv.A!inf Removal Tool:

http://www.symantec.com/security_response/writeup.jsp?docid=2008-071823-3029-99&tabid=1

But it seems that it MUST be done while in safe mode:

Best of luck.

First off,Norton is the worst a/v progam on the market.Remove it,and the go download Avast to use as your a/v program.

And,get a good spyware/malware scanner/remover.Like the one called Malware Bites.

Both of these are free programs, and can be downloaded from C/NET's download.com site.

First, Delete Norton as soon as possible and never use it again. It really is a terrible antivirus and its way to bloated for the operating system.

Follow the steps on this site CAREFULLY and EXACTLY and you will be virus free.
