I'm at a university that requires http proxy authentication (credentials) each time I log in. Other browsers only ask me once the first time, but firefox asks me each time. How do I make it a once-off request in firefox?

To disable proxy server in fire fox 2.0 consider..
Select Tools => Options.
Select "Advanced" tab.
Open "Network" tab.
Click "Settings" button in the "Connections" area.
Select the Direct Connection to the Internet radio button.

Under Privacy > Cookies, make sure it says "Keep until they expire", not "until I close Firefox".
