I just removed the AV security Suite Spyware scam from my computer. After getting advice from Yahoo,Answers, I removed it by restoring my system in safe mode for 2 days prior. I also found other advice on Google, Wikipedia, spyware blogs and they all mentioned "SpyHunter". But like I said, I found the most reliable and safest answer here and restored my system. I've always trusted Wikipedia and even they said that I need to download "SpyHunter detection tool and I will have the option to purchase if spyware is detected". That sounds soooo sketchy to me. After reading some of the Q&A here, I see nothing but bad things about SpyHunter.....so trusted friends, tell me the truth.

Spyhunter is a legitimate spyware remover with bad past. Wikipedia page might be created by Spyhunter employees.

I would recommend Malwarebytes or Spyware Doctor instead. They are cheaper (Spyhunter is charged bi-yearly, commercial malwarebytes and Spyware Doctor -yearly) and have better history.

You are infected with spyware if:

* You see too much pop-up advertisements.

* Your browser has toolbars that you haven't installed.

* Your homepage has changed (and you can't change it back).

* Other settings have changed without your permission.

* Your computer is slow.

To get rid of spyware and keep your computer clean you can use an antispyware or even more.

You can download a antispyware software. There are 10 good anti-spywares.

here is the reviews: http://toptenantispywareviews.com/

You can download one and scan your system.

All are safe and can be trusted.

Reinstall the operating system, or restore your computer to factory setting usually pressing F8 or create a rescue cd from a working computer then boot into the cd and get rid of it. Examples are Avira rescue system or AVG rescue cd just google it. When your system is up and running remember to put a reputable antivirus on your computer like avast, avg, norton or avira for future prevention.
