being a computer technician for almost 5 years the best antivirus and firewall would be McAfee Antivirus Plus edition, it includes Antivirus, firewall and e-mail scanning

Browser? Firefox, not only it is free, but it's fast and secure

E-Mail client? Thunderbird also from Mozilla, same maker of Firefox

McAfee Security Center is really good.

McAfee currently develops many security tools for the PC, both for corporate and home users, including:

McAfee VirusScan (antivirus, some antispyware components)

McAfee Total Protection for Small Business (antivirus, antispyware, firewall)

McAfee Personal Firewall Plus (firewall)

McAfee GroupShield (antivirus for mail servers)

McAfee SpamKiller (antispam)

McAfee Privacy Service (anti-abuse, plus Anti-phishing)

McAfee AntiSpyware (full antispyware, plus Anti-phishing)

McAfee QuickClean (secure shredder, file cleanup)

McAfee SiteAdvisor (free) (alerts users when entering dangerous sites, basing on downloads, popups and number of e-mail received)

McAfee SecurityCenter (free) (gateway to managing most McAfee services, as well as Windows updates management)

McAfee LinuxShield (antivirus for enterprise editions of Redhat and SUSE distributions.)

McAfee Wireless Security protects wireless networks.

McAfee IntruShield (Intrusion Prevention Appliance)

Avast is the (light on system resources) best anti virus software for personal use.

Gmail is the simple and best web based email

I like Opera browser because it loads faster, built in mail client, built in search, built in news reader.

I don't use any firewall.

according to me,

1.the best firewall would be zonealarm,it has very high security, with one button click we can stop internet flow when we realize there is something wrong and it has strong protection for inbound and outbound access

2.the best browser would be Mozilla Firefox because as compared to IE,OPERA,it has more built in security

With one button click that is clear private data we can clear of all ie History, temp

3.Best Email is Rediffmail because it does not take much time for attachments like yahoo, more like in Gmail it wont say a zip file a malicious .exe which we cant attach.

most virus are spread through IE. IE is not a safe browser. you should use a more secure browser to protect your PC from virus.

i recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can block any any popup and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE browser. as you know, most of virus spread throught internet and webpage.

besides, firefox is much smaller than IE, so it run faster than IE.

download firefox for free, Just have a try:
