I installed search and destroy spy bot and I want to uninstall it as its driving me nuts. Well I did remove programmes and unistall only to find that it is still actively working. Now I cannot find any trace of this on my c drive I have tried ms config to find it but I cannot find any files or folders relating to this but is still working. I have been into internet explorer and I still cannot find it.

Can anyone help me please...like I said I must be going or have gone dotty!

Reboot your computer and see if it still is there. If it is try reinstalling it and then uninstall it. You could always ask at the spybot forums if you still have issues. http://forums.spybot.info/

C drive is not the only place to look for, and I don't know what operating system you are using. Mine is windows vista. If I want to uninstall a software, I'll bring up the UNINSTALL option which will list all installed programs. I'll just highlight the one I want, go to the top, click uninstall, and the rest is automatic. Do you have such an option ? If yes, maybe that program is still there. Hope I have helped.

Do this:

Start > My Computer > Program files.

Look for the Search & Destroy folder and delete it manually.

Then: Start > Search.

Type in `Search and Destroy` if it shows any more folders etc relating to the software, delete them.
