how to removed a virus PLEASE HELP?

Question

I let a friend used my Tobisha laptop ( i have window 7) for homework and he told me that he got the FBI virus :/
I seen some videos and nothing has worked .I am not able to used my internet :( what can i do ?
Do I have to buy an anti-virus? please help i need my laptop to be fix :(

From Avira.de it is possible to download a (free) "rescue CD". It must be downloaded and burned on CD by an uninfected computer and then the infected one must be booted from the CD. It removes all virus and malware before the operating system starts. I once recommended it to a Russian girls not having AV software where it found (and removed) 22 different virus.

The FBI virus is a tough one, you won't get rid of it by simply scanning your computer with its anti-virus. In fact you probably won't even be able to use the antivirus or much else if memory serves from when I worked on a few machines with that virus. First and foremost, sophisticated viruses like the FBI must be removed generally outside of the windows environment meaning you must boot to something like a rescue virus scanner cd or thumb drive like kaspersky or bittdenfender etc. Basically your going to use a tool like Yumi or Unetbootn to install the virus removal software onto a flash drive making it boot-able, then boot to the flash drive and make sure to update the virus data base before scanning. Once done with that then run some regular tools like Malwarebytes, sypbot search and destroy, etc. Good luck

Have you tried this? It should work.



1. Reboot the PC into Safe Mode with networking

a. Power off PC then power back while booting by pressing F8 key till you see option for Safe Mode.



b. Use UP/Down arrow keys on keyboard and choose safe mode with internet.



c. Log in to PC normally.



d. Download Free malwarebytes (http://www.malwarebytes.org/). Install it and then run a full system scan. When it completes delete everything it identifies. (This may take 30-45 minutes or longer)



2. Reboot the PC FBI virus should be gone. Download antivirus program ASAP a good free one is AVG: http://www.avg.com/us-en/free-antivirus-download.



3. Run Malwarebytes again.



You HAVE to have an up to date anti virus program. The paid version is better, but free is much better than nothing.

Just download any antivirus software and scan your full system once...

I prefer you try "microsoft security essential"

Download and update once. And scan full computer.
