I am having trouble gaining access to the internet on my laptop. Keep getting a message saying there maybe a remote firewall blocking access. Why would this happen and how can i overcome the problem.

Check the firewall on your laptop first - is that set to block internet access at all?
Then check the firewall on the router you are using to get to the internet - that could be blocking access.
It COULD just be blocking certain sites though - do you get any access at all or is it just when you try to get to particular addresses?

I just had the same problem. I couldn't get on-line at all and was blaming my ISP, having already double-checked my own set-up for obvious faults. My ISP advised me to reset ZoneAlarm security setting to Medium, which solved the problem. I do not like having the lower security setting but have yet to think of a way around it that doesn't involve ditching ZoneAlarm (I am using version 7.0.470.000).

You can turn it off while playing the online games..
go to control panel and then go to security tab..
after that select firewall settings.
from that settings you can see a turn off option for firewall ...turn it off and play ..
but it's not secure to play online games while firewal is turned off.
